Hi guys, new user here. I couldn't really find anyone on here that documented the time in took when submitting everything via the DPS website so figured I'd log my experience.

12/31/12: Submitted online application (paid via CC)
01/08/13: Fingerprinting completed
01/09/13: Checklist, CHL-6 (w/ request to use DL photo), CHL-100 uploaded to DPS website via the contact us form
01/16/13: Email confirmation stating docs were received
01/27/13: Documentation recieved. Background check under review
02/02/13: Background check complete. Manufacturing Pending
02/06/13: Manufacturing
02/07/13: Mailed
02/08/13: Plastic in hand (envelope postmarked 2/6/13)

30 days from uploading to the site to getting my CHL in the mail. Not too shabby!

Looks like its running around 40 days using snail mail. My son sent his stuff in on 11/27 and got his plastic today. It will be interesting to see if doing it online speeds up the process any. Welcome to the forum!

Hi I am new too. Our timing is similar so it will be interesting to compare. I am not holding my breath tho - if I am recalling correctly seems I read 2.7mil FBI requests for background checks in December?

Welcome everyone. Mailed my paperwork off November 19, got an update last Thursday to "mailed". Not here yet, makes my current wait time 51 days

I also submitted my application on line, Saturday 12/8. Application was received Friday 12/14.

Status has remaind unchaged since 12/14

Fingerprints : Complete
Affidavits : Received
DL or ID : Valid
Citizenship : No documentation required
Passport photo holder : Received
Photo : Received
Proof of Classroom training : Received
Proof of Proficiency training : Received
Fee : Received
Background Check : Under review
Concealed Handgun License : Print pending completion of application review

I emailed in my paperwork 1/4/13 and just got the update today that they are waiting for the background check.

I received a confirmation via email yesterday (Jan 16th) that they have received the docs but my online application still shows waiting on required materials. Copy of the email is below.

I decided to check my status today. Even though it Sunday and I figured there is no way that are going to be doing anything with this on the weekend.

I discovered it had changed to Background Check Completed, Manufacturing Pending!

Strange I never received any confirmation emails.

I mailed my documents on the 23 of December (at the post office drop) and had everything done before that.
Application on line, fingerprints, CHL class, the and all the associated paperwork. I already had a good copy of my DD214....
and you are at the same "mailed" day as me.
So I guess on line submission of forms and paperwork is better.

I wonder if age becomes a factor due to having more background to check?

Here is my timetable.

Dec 18 2012: applied online (paid with CC)
Jan 03 2013: fingerprints submitted
Jan 19 2013: completed CHL class
Jan 21 2013: submitted checklist, CHL-6 (using DL photo), CHL-100 to DPS website using the "contact us" form

No change with my status yet. Looks like upload of docs to the website is the way to go. I know they received mine via snail mail due to tracking info. Wonder if I should follow up?
