Docs Mailed 8/23

Did my application go to the slow desk? 21 days reviewing BG Check. I was hoping to have plastic in the mail by now...

8/20/12 Submitted CHL application online
8/23/12 Fingerprints & photos
8/23/12 Mailed docs to DPS
8/25/12 Docs received by DPS
9/11/12 Bg Check: under review

are they seeing something that needs more attention ? 30-60 days is normal

I mailed my documents in 10 days before you did and I just got my plastic 2 days ago. I have a spotless record so there was nothing that the DPS had to dig deeper into. My plastic took a total of 46 days so you're not out of the realm of possibilities. Once the background check is over, things move pretty fast. If there is nothing in your background that is going to require further review I bet things will start moving here very soon.

Looks like it's still a little early to be hitting the panic button. I know it's been easy for me to get panicked and think I'm going to be denied but that's really just my mind getting away from me. I do have a couple of blips on my record but they're minor and over 30 years old. It's been reassuring to know that my waiting time is still well within the norm even for someone with no blips.

I mailed in my documents on August 31, and today it updated to mailed. So hope to have it within the next 7 days.

The Wife sent her docs in one week after i did. Guess who got their plastic yesterday...
