Been waiting since January 20th and going to the mailbox multiple times per day. Today is Feb. 1 and I'd about had it. I called DPS on Tuesday and they told me they had 14 days from time of mailing before they'd open an issue for me. Tonight, a lovely lady (whom I didn't see, as my daughter answered the door) delivered a piece of mail and left immediately (good move at a strange house). My daughter turned around to me and said "It's your CHL!!!"..... It was postmarked 01/20, sure enough! I finally have it, and I'll try not to go too far into why I didn't have it when I should have...but suffice it to say, I don't work for the government and do what I consider a "great" job in my field. I sure wish others in the public sector had the same drive as us in the private sector and took pride in our work. 'nuf said for that.....
If you're concerned that your CHL is taking too long to be delivered, just remember who's delivering it....okay, I went a little overboard there.

...welcome to the forum, Venturemmltd...good story and not the first time we've read here of the license going to the wrong address...though I think the last report involved each one got the other's license...glad the gal who ended up with yours was honest and delivered it, instead of it just disappearing...or being sent back...
...also a good point about public vs. private sector drive...the bar's a lot lower in the public sector...to accommodate those who don't have much on the ball...that's why the ones who give it their all shine so brightly...though they don't get a nickel more than the slackers for their effort...

Welcome Venturemmltd. I'm glad you had a nice neighbor.

Re: Delivered to the wrong mailbox
I have no great love for the USPS, but delivery mistakes happen. I don't know if the USPS delivery error rate is higher than the private services or not; I do wish they would screw up and deliver all the junk solicitations to someone else's mailbox.... But USPS is not the only one who boo-boos deliveries...
A few years ago we had just acquired Chester, our yellow lab, from some friends who had to move and could not take all their pets. He was still a bit unsettled I think, and had a few nervous behaviors. For instance, he chewed up a pumpkin I put on our porch for decoration. A full sized one -- just carried it off and "carved" on it.
One day the UPS guy goofed and delivered a book that was supposed to go to my next door neighbor, laying it on the front porch since no one was home...except the dog who was outside at the time. I took the book over to my neighbor and apologized for the fact that the packaging was already opened (shredded would be a better word), and all the top corners were more or less missing where Chester had chewed off the entire corner of the book. Also apologized for all the dog spit soaked into the pages.
She just laughed and said she would file a claim with UPS for the mis-delivery.
