May seems to have dropped like a rock. Where did all the applicants go?? ohhh, I know...they applied when I did, that's why it took 10 weeks + 1 day to receive my license. Disregard

More waiting I guess...

I'm in the May group, but for my CHL Instructor certificate It's like the wait for my CHL all over again. Except that my CHL took 112 days. I'm hoping this doesn't take as long.

Just wondering. Is the wait time for the Instructor certificate the same. Do they have 60 days
under normal conditions or is there a different timeframe?

Took the chl class and got fingerprints - 5/14/11
Mailed required paperwork from Austin - 5/16/11

Now its the waiting game, called to see if they had recieved my fingerprints yet no joy.... So now
All I can do is wait...

I don't know of any statutory time frame for issuing the instructor certificate. I think it really depends on how soon you're able to get into an instructor class. The class is 5 days and only held in Austin. My understanding is that after they process your application and background check, they'll call you and let you know when the next class is that has openings. If you can't make that date, you have to wait for the next one.

Maybe you could start a new group called Maypril 2011 Applications.
DPS does seem to be processing faster now than they have been in the past; so, maybe you won't have that long of wait although it will seem like an eternity.
