Packet Sent 1/11

Hello All.
I sent my packet on 1/11 express to Austin. I pre-paid and received my application last year with a PIN. I've been checking the website to see if a status will change notifying me DPS has received the packet. How often do they update? Should I be concerned?

Hello jmdevera
No need to be concerned.
With the current processing times , your status probably won't change to "
processing application" for
about two weeks.
Then it will be stuck in that mode until it changes to "
application complete" . I would check it often in case you get the dreaded "
application incomplete/detailed letter has been sent" in which case you can call them immediately to find out what additional information you need to provide .
Good Luck !

One more thing.
Did you use return receipt ? A lot of people use that to have proof that DPS received the packet.

I did you a return receipt but I might have dont a signature confirmation. So maybe it will come in the mail box today. Im probably a bit paranoid! This is a good time for me to learn some patience hahaha.

Justin you're in good shape. You applied online and they received the application packet before the one year expiration of online applicants.
Your status right now probably is "Packet Mailed to Applicant". It should be changing over soon, as USA1 says, to "Processing Application". That's the only thing you'll see until "Application Approved. License Issued or Active", UNLESS there's some missing info in the packet, like USA1 described.
As you already have your PIN #, check away! I must have checked my status 4 or 5 times/day.
I think that's common.

Thats what my status says right now...Im refreshing away!
I didn't know there was a 1 year expiration date. I'm pretty sure I made it with in that date. If not will there be any problems? I know I paid and my instructor switched 2 forms out with the "newer" ones...

Yes, there's a 1 year expiration if you applied for the application packet online, and a 2 year expiration if you received the application packet in class and sent DPS that one.
If you DID NOT get the application packet to DPS in the 1 year time frame, then there's a good chance that DPS
may, stress may, reject your application packet as time had expired.
What 2 forms did he change out?

I think you're in good shape. You got it in about a month before expiration, according to:
"02/10/2009 - Packet and PIN Received
01/09/2010 - CHL class taken
01/11/2010 - Packet Mailed to DPS"
I guess the last question would be when did you apply for the application packet, and when did DPS receive your paperwork? All in all, I really think everything's fine.

Yea if you call them with the number provided on your status screen they will gladly give you the true status. That's what I did and kinda felt like it speeded up the process a little bit. Maybe cause it made someone take a look at it who knows. Im at two weeks now with Application Complete and I was missing something that had to be mailed

They got mine on the 4th, at least I think so from the fact of when they cashed my check. So I am hoping that I will be as fast!

I will probably call just to be sure. I wonder if the fact that I received my packet early and paid for it early, if that will speed the process up?? 2 weeks sure is fast!

Not sure, might. It does seem that giving them a call every now and then sure speeded up my process though, hope you have the same luck.
