Good grief whumble ! That's mighty unusual to have it take so long. What are they telling you? Have you had multiple residences/jobs, or worked in different counties the past 5 years?

Write letters. "If it ain't in writin', it didn't happen". I have preached that to many over the past quarter century.

If it makes you feel any better (which I know it doesn't!) I am right there with ya buddy! We are a few weeks off from one another in timing, but I think our apps went to the same "trainee" at the DPS who spends more time updating their Facebook page during business hours than they do processing CHL apps. :mad5

I have lived in the same county for almost 26 years, worked the same job for 10, lived at the same address for the past 11, etc. Still.....they seem to have problems with conducting my background check. Never mind in the capacity of my employment I can run a background check on myself in under 5 minutes and the FBI and DHS have turned me inside and out for some of the clearances I have to have for my job.... :grumble

I just received my CHL after a 6 months wait and was told it was due to my birth abroad. I'm not sure if the same applies to you, but I was told that anything out of the normal really throws a wrench in the gears. I'm also pretty sure they just say that so they can take more time. And I'm also fairly sure that nothing I said was very helpful, but good luck anyhow.
