Hello All, from Hutto...

Post by Matrix68 »

I have been lurking for the past month or so...and decided to finally take the plunge and join in the fun. I am a member of the "August" group, waiting on DPS to get the plastic to me.

Certainly a group of "colorful" folks, there is no doubt. Again, thanks for the warm welcome.

From all the August waiting room posts, it appears a good number of the folks are starting to receive their plastic. Last week, I did send an email to DPS just to check on status and to see if they needed any additional information. The response I received indicated that they were still working through the back-ground check and didn't need any additional information at the moment.

I am correct in assuming that the back-ground check is the most time consuming process? Also, has anyone experienced a change to the online status over the weekends? Just wondering if my many visits per day to check status is really a productive activity. :biggrinjester:

Thanks for the info!

I will continue with my daily routine of checking online status (at least 3 times a day  ).

Yes, you are correct. The background check is by far THE most time consuming item in the process. And yes, there's been several people whose status changed over the weekend. But that was back towards the end of August when they had a BIG push to process applications. Whether it's done on a regular basis is one of those great mysteries of life. No one knows.

As far as how often you can check, you can check hourly if you want to. I don't recommend that....that's just downright unproductive. But certainly every other hour. :smilelol5:

Seriously, it doesn't matter. What ever trips your trigger. There's certainly no harm in checking often. I check about 3 or 4 times a day on the weekend, and maybe 4 or 5 during the week. Just something to do don't you know. ;-)
