FINALLY, some progress. I was the one who had a letter sent from DPS saying my background check resulted in an old property tax bill which wasn't paid in Dallas County. Never owned property there, and told DPS they had the wrong guy. Their 3rd party background check agency, I was told by DPS, doesn't always use SSN or DL info during their searches, so I had to defend my good name. When I faxed DPS (they never received by rebuttal letter via USPS apparently) last week the actual property tax record, which I pointed out was from 1987 when I was not yet of legal age to even own property, I guess they had a change of heart.

My status has finally changed from the norm to Application Completed - license issued or certificate active. 20 weeks after my app was received. Shouldn't be long now til plastic in hand!

Just got off the phone with DPS. Told me my license is out for printing. Sure seems like they have released more licenses in the last few days than normal.

i think it comes in spurts .
sometimes days go by without any members here announcing the good news .
and then BAM ! , a hole bunch of apps get completed .

hey all, just a update... the heart dr. said all is ok... not a "bad" blockage... just a little... anyways i checked online and here is what i seen....

06-03-09 dps sent letter saying months were missing from previous addresses i lived at.
06-19-09 dps signed certified letter stating they recieved a the missing informationfrom me but LOST IT! no lie... 100% true... i have signed recept from postal service
07-17-09 dps recieved another copy from me threw a rep from ana hernandez
07-18-09 prossessing my app...
08-26-09 Application Completed - license issued or certificate active

"Processing Application"

I've been told otherwise, but my DPS check status page says "Processing Application" as well.

I think the reason why so many have received the application complete status at one time is that they "batch the printing" - do a bunch at once.
I'm actually wondering if my status will change online.
Maybe a new poll - 1) I receive plastic first, or 2) my status changes before I receive plastic, Hmmmmm
