Did Wally walk with wife today:

parked at the back of lot walked in with my Stoeger/Beretta Cougar 9mm in a blackhawk nylon holder in appendix position. Concealed well but didn't feel too comfortable but I thought carrying my Ruger LCP 380 in the pocket would be cheating at the Wally walk. I'll get a super tuck for the cougar later when I can afford it.

Shopped around for about a hour. Attempted to go to restroom but it was closed for cleaning. I got stuff off bottom and top of shelfs without fear of being exposed. Pushed a cart around the toy section. Found an in cap with maglight flash lights for $2.50! So at check out I walked with the Cashier to show him and I got it for that price! He never knew I was carrying even though he walked with me from the front of the store to the far back comer of the store to camping section. It helps that I've been carrying around the house and in my back yard.

I carried with one in the chamber and the mag full.

After Wal-Mart went to gas station got gas an went in to get a fountian drink.

Then we headed home.

Been stuck on 'background check' for a while. I have a clean record and was issued CHL in the past. I phoned DPS today and they gave me the "60-90" day response. I'm hoping that's just the standard response and it will get moving pretty quick. Everything else has been approved other than the background check. Fingers crossed for next week. By seeing others, mine should be up next week. Hoping!

Rvrrat14 - Yes your getting the standard reply when calling. These guys who answer calls at 1-800-224-5744 have limited database access and can only provide you your current status from the same source as the webpage that you have access to! I know it's frustrating but patience is the only solution! Backgrounds can be the slowest part of the process.

They received my application on 05.14.10 and my status just changed to mailed today!

im still waiting for my status to change finger and BG are still under review. me my dad and my uncle took the class together and mailed it the sameday. and there already have there cards. but there status was up on the internet about a week and a half before mine was. so i probably still have about 2 weeks if im luck.

creekwilly - I had 3 friends that I took my class with and they all received their plastic last week! I had a "notary" issue with my affidavits and DPS sent them back to me (even though my friends had the exact same notary) and I'm only about a week behind them.
