Welcome airbatica!

I was pleasantly surprised and amazed to have my new CHL plastic waiting in my mailbox this afternoon! I just pulled it out of mailbox about an hour ago so haven't planned for Wally Walk tonight! Will Wally Walk tomorrow - and Target walk and Lakeline Mall walk and...

Great day! Spent a couple hours today @ Eagle Peak - busy, busy! Nice day to shoot!

Cheers!

Got my license in the mail today.

Time out for a quick woo-hoo <Woo-Hoo!>

I couldn't go anywhere today, 'cause Arkansas was playing East Carolina in the Liberty Bowl (Ark won - 20-17 in OT - another Woo-Hoo!).

Can't go tomorrow, 'cause I have a Cowboys game at 3:15pm, which means leaving the house around noon to get there. And I am smart enough to not attempt to carry into Jerry World. :thumbs2:

Maybe next week I can offically break out the CHL and go somewhere. But for now, it's enough to have it in hand (or, actually, in my wallet!).

Application Completed - license issued or certificate active

:anamatedbanana :thewave :anamatedbanana

That's about three weeks from delivering application to being licensed. If they get the card to me in a week it'll be under 1 month. :)

I am new to the forum and in the waiting room...

I am encouraged to see the processing times in December 2009 as compared to applications submitted earlier in 2009. I would assume the influx of applications after "the election" created a bottleneck in Austin.

12/22/09 CHL Class Completed
12/23/09 Application Mailed to Austin
12/31/09 Check to DPS Cleared Bank
01/04/10 Pin Received Status: Processing/Application
01/20/10 APPLICATION COMPLETE
XX/XX/XX Plastic Received

Congrats to all new CHL's.
The wait is mind numbing but processing times seem to be getting quicker.

My license arrived today. One month after I mailed in the paperwork and 29 days from the day it was received in Austin. Pretty cool!

Congrats! :hurry:

I was happy when my CHL instructor said we'd probably get ours the first week of Feb. To get them in just about a month is awesome!

I hope so as well. Still have not received my PIN number so I don't know what my status is yet. Where do you shoot in the Allen area? My wife and I are looking at moving to the Plano/Frisco/McKinney area in a few months.

I typically shoot at The Bullet Trap in Plano. For members, it's a reasonable $7.99/day range fee. Non-members is significantly higher. Worth it for me to be a member, definitely at $100/year.

I've also heard that Bass Pro Shops north of DFW airport has a decent range, but have never been there. I've only been back in Texas for a month after an 18 year hiatus in New Jersey. Sure is good to be home. :txflag:
