Hello everyone...it's been a heck of a long wait, and it's only been since August 9th for me!!!! Oh well. I spoke to a nice young lady last week and she said that the FBI was finishing up with me...whatever that means. It sure would've been nice to carry during this whole Hurricane Ike ordeal...no lights, people desperate and angry roaming the streets....what a mess. Good luck to everyone here....and thanks for having me.

I mispoke, I'm a Sept app. It was 9/6 class completed, 9/8 packet mailed, 9/13 Ike hits. I'll go to the Sept postings. Sorry!

I just emailed my state rep, and he said that he was going to speak with DPS today. I have a pretty serious medical condition that makes me less capable to defend myself these days, considering I had a stroke in March of this year, and the senator said that he will see what he can do to expedite the process. But politicians do lie .....fingers crossed.

Thanks for the kind words....I'm actually doing pretty well considering (I'm fairly young at 35 years old )...spoke to a lady from DPS who said that the Senator's office had reached her on my behalf....we spoke for a few minutes, she had my file in her hands as we spoke, and she said that everything was ready to go...now waiting on the signed field reports. What I don't understand is why we have to wait on some report if the background checks have already been completed and I was OK??? Oh well...my advice is to wait until about day 50, and then get your state rep, senator, etc. on the phone...seems to do the job. Fingers still crossed though...

Well I hate to say this............ but im just too excited not to! I just checked my status and it changed to "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active"!!!!!!!! Woohoo!!!!! Not sure if it changed today or not since I have not checked it since thursday but today would be business day 35 since they received my application. I hope you all get yours soon!!!

That's good to hear JET4! That means the Lubbock area is still processing, here's to hoping mine is on its way soon, I submitted my app in between the two people who have went to complete!

Well I got a letter from the DPS today ~ I got really excited but it looks like the pics are not ok I'll be getting in touch with my instructor I guess! Congrats on all those who got theirs
