I heard good things about One Day CHL, what did you think of your experience?[/quote]

I really liked it. It was interesting and well prepared. Went as as fast as you would expect for it to go. We shot at Hot Wells range and it was hotter than the devil. Shot into the sun at 5:00 PM. I would recommend them. A great value I think. All inclusive for $95. Pictures, prints, notary, everything you need.

Good deal, $95 is great for an all-inclusive course.

I paid $99 for an all inclusive (http://chltx.com/), but when I got to the class I found out that the "All Inclusive" did not include the $16 range fee nor the box of ammo :( I drove 30 minutes to take that class when 2 minutes up the road they offered the class for $125 and it actually included EVERYTHING.

Time line from Houston
Class - June 30
Mailed - July 2
DPS Received - July 5
Processing - July 19
Call from DPS requesting DL Information - July 24
License Issued - Aug 8th.
Received in the Mail - TBD

33 Days! Wally World here I come! :woohoo

I believe that I might have some kind of record. I will get my CHL before my permanent driver's license. I applied for my DL on May 08th. Due to a mix up at the DPS I have had to get four more temporaries. I still don't have my picture DL.

I just checked my status and...all is quiet on the western front :???:

With all of these folks getting "license active" notifications, I halfway expected to see some good news today! We'll see if it changes by the weekend...

I received my plastic today so I am official.

Updated Time line from Houston
Class - June 30
Mailed - July 2
DPS Received - July 5
Processing - July 19
Call from DPS requesting DL Information - July 24
Faxed response to DPS - July 24
License Issued - Aug 8th.
Received in the Mail - August 11th

37 Days from door to door!
Wally World here I come! :woohoo

P.S. I got my DL on August 9th

I think it helped the turnaround time by applying online. Having ElGato and Tammi checking all the forms before I sent them in eliminated any paperwork, fingerprint, photo problems.

Godspeed to rest of you waiting!!
Well, gotta go, I am hungry for some nachos!
