Nice day for me, CHL went through, Both my wife and I got our yearly bonus today and the IRS deposited our refund in my account.

Gotta go get a lottery ticket... :txflag:

Just had a thought, it's rare but they are usually pretty decent. Can anyone tell me if the DPS website updates throughout the day or, once per day overnight? I've been checking mine multiple times throughout the day to see if anything has updated. I'll really feel like an addict if it's only going to update at like 2am or something.

Today March 12th the web site finally updated. Just still shows "background check under review (all other important stuff green).
So it looks like they are getting to Feb now.
Today March 15th her status changed to background check complete, manufacturing pending.

I'm fairly certain it only updates once a day during the night.

New guy here. Submitted all document via email / DPS website Jan30th. Received confirmation email. Called last week to confirm I was not missing any documentation and was told everything was being processed. Now my father submitted his two weeks later than me buy mail. Received a letter back that they did not receive his handgun class paper, re-submitted that paper. Today he received his license. How did his process go faster than mine? Possibly due to his being a Vietnam Vet?

Welcome to the forum. There doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason to time lines. IMHO, the inconsistencies are human related. I believe those responsible for processing the paperwork consist of those that are productive workers who take pride in their work and those that are there to pick up a paycheck. If your app falls in the hands of the first party your turnaround time is likely to be short. If your app falls into the second group of "workers" you are likely in for a long wait.

Was his a first time or renewal? Renewals tend to go faster.
The veteran aspect has no bearing on speed.
