As long as you are not carrying and have not received your license, you are not required to do anything that you wouldn't have done before you applied.
if they come to you and say "where is your CHL" you just say "THANKS for Letting me know it was issued, but I havent gotten it, this is the best news I have had all day!!"
or that is what I would do

Now that most of the April group is "licensed" and some of us are still stalking the mailman, I have a question...
Or you could be in my boat and have people who sent in their packet a week or two after you already have their plastic in hand. I'm still stuck on the background check, which is royally pissing me off.

I'd like to see all the April applicants add a "days to plastic" to their signatures. I suppose there would need to be some debate on what the start and end dates should be so an accurate comparison might not be possible for a while, but it would be nice.

PLASTIC! My husband ran home at lunch and both of us received our plastic today.

:thewave

We apparently also received someone else's plastic - a gentleman in Garland's was apparently caught on ours and delivered to us in error (my husband just texted me, so I'm not sure if it was inside our envelope or caught on the outside). I will be forwarding his to him from Dallas tomorrow, so he should have it by Wednesday...

KinArlington:

I too received my PLASTIC in the mail today. :clapping: I double checked it to make sure that I had the correct license when I read your post as I too live in Garland. Yes, it my ugly face on the front sure enough. Someone else will have to wait a day or two longer. :banghead:

The waiting is over, congrats to all who were in the April group. The April group will prove to be history in a few days.

Again, thanks to the forum for their comments and words of wisdom. :tiphat: Now, on to Wally's Place. :woohoo

I just gotta stop coming here and checking the status site. All it's doing is confirming that I'm more than behind the curve, people who put their apps in during May are getting their plastic already. If my BG check isn't complete by the time I wake up tomorrow morning, I guess I'll have to make a call and see what the hangup is. There HAS to be something wrong for me to be getting pushed behind May's applicants. Not that I could think of anything that would be derogatory on my check...

Grungir79:

I would send them a polite e-mail. I sent an e-mail on on June 2 and received plastic today.

My post back on 6/2/2010: "I had been in the "Manufacturing Pending" status for seven days now.
Sooooooooooo I sent the CHL folks a very polite e-mail asking status as my total wait time is now 53 plus days. I received a reply within an hour, it stated: 'Your application has been approved and you should be receiving your licensed in 7-10 days'".

It can't hurt.

Don't feel too left out. I hand-delivered my app to DPS on 4/22
The rest of our dates match up perfectly and I am still waiting on the background check...

Another update.

I picked up my CROSSBREED SuperTuck Holster today $70. Here in San Antonio, and as most Gun Forums state, Its the uglyest most confortable hoster you will ever wear. I have a Springfield XD40SC, and love it after one long hot day in San Antonio. At times, I could not even fell the weight of the gun.

I recommend getting the same holster.

Now I have an extra Holter that is FOR SALE. Its a Galco FL440, if you like OWB holster. I did like the way this one feels, but living in Texas and not needing to go into the office my daily wear consist of cargo shorts and untucked t-shirt. With my build, it allow permited peeps of my gun when digging for my wallet. I paid $60 for it, and will sell for $50 shipped to your door (Continential USA). Email me if interested.

Stock pick of holster: http://www.holster-sale.com/proddetail. ... &cat=12835

Thanks

I took my class on February 20th. Got around to mailing the packet on April 29th. The certified return receipt requested card says they signed for it May 3rd. I got a letter from DPS dated May 17th that they had received my packet. I got my plastic yesterday, June 7th. So I think my time for DPS receipt of packet(entered into system) to plastic in my hand was 22 days. Yes?

it would seem, but not really
The date to use is is the Certified Mail date.
For some unknown reason, most everyone has about a 2 week delay from Certified Receipt to the "entered date".
So about 35 days actually is about normal.
Congrats by the way!
