I wish I had known you could upload the CHL 100 online, but it was difficult to find a solid answer due to misinformation I received from a local gun shop owner telling me they could only be mailed in, my instructor saying they could be emailed, the fact that the RDS site has been updated to calling the licences LTC, and their refusal to respond to any emailed questions. I wasn't able to upload it during the application as I completed it through my phone.

I called DPS in late January, around a month after completing the application, and was only told "it's too early", and to "wait a few weeks" before info would be available.

I called again this evening, spoke to the same gentleman, and was given the same response. This time he added that they were processing mid-December apps. I asked if he could verify that all items needed on my part were received. He was unable to do so, and suggested I try calling again in the first of March.

Tom Petty was right. The waiting is the hardest part.

Luckily, I've been able to use this site as a stress reliever. It's easier when you know you're not alone.

I got my confirmation email on December 30, 2015. The status changed on Monday 2/15 but still no card. Hopeing tomorrow is my lucky day.

Okay something is not right here. My confirmation date was 12/21 and still have yet to receive mine.

I had verification of the doc upload on 12/16 (screen print) and had to resend. I was pretty firm. Maybe they moved me back to that date, so to speak. Hope this helps.

Timeline:
08/15 - Original submission of docs
09/25 - Request for additional documents for a misdemeanor 25 years ago.
09/26 - 11/9 - Mad scramble for said documents from a small town in Nebraska.
11/10 - Uploaded said documents.
01/20 - Called for status and was told it was in background.
02/11 - Impatient and lurking around the Waiting Room.

Seriously? 25year old misdemeanor? Was it a disqualifying one at that?

I was honest on my application and listed the misdemeanor and a felony that was dismissed. I am sure it is the dismissed felony that is giving me fits. I have held a Top Secret clearance in the Army since then and had no problem with that background check.

Call back again later. If they're less busy you'll have the option for a call back.

Hello All.
My timeline:
12/30/15: received online application confirmation(with bar code)
01/08/16: fingerprint with confirmation submitted by FAST to DPS
01/30/16 completed CHL100
02/05/16: sent CHL100 by secure e-mail.
I still have not received confirmation and can't get status of app. from RSD
I would re-submit , but they warn not to do this.
Is the confirmation with the barcode the only confirmation or should there be another on?

Held out as long as I could but finally broke down and called. "Darrell" told me I was calling way too early. Yet people after me have already received plastic???? Never had more than a traffic ticket and the last one of those was 10+ years ago.... I don't get it.

I just got off the phone with DPS and they said I was approved and that they are now waiting to print it. No website change today and here is my timeline again.

That must be "Darrell's" stock answer. He told me the same thing when I called. My timeline started about a week after yours.
