My original status post:
Mailed Packet(s)* to DPS: 14 June
Received at DPS: 15 June
First Day Information Available on-line: 1 July (We have checked every day!)

*Sent separate packets for self and wife.

There is a 'note' on both of our web-status pages that the "Special Conditions Documentation" was unacceptable. I can only assume that the copies of our DD214s were not clearly legible. Have to wait until I get the notification in the mail.
Sent clean copy of DD214 Jul 16th (received Jul 17th).
Status today: Concealed Handgun License : Manufacturing Pending

So close, but yet so far away.............................

(My wife's status has not changed. Hopefully, it will not be too far behind.)

If the State converts a right into a privilege, the citizen can ignore the license and fee and engage in the right with impunity. -- Shuttleworth v. City of Birmingham

When I sent my dd214 in I made sure it was a copy of the original. I am just so astonished by how fast all the motions went.

I think TXDPS should have a counter for how many visits they get daily on the status page. Mabey even a small add banner, then they could reduce costs cause its gotta be the most viewed TX State agency page.

probably the longest wait you have ever had, I know it was for me, and it took from Mailed on Friday, until Wednesday the next week, to get from Austin to Houston, how rude! LOL
I'm in the North Dallas area, so I should have it by Thanksgiving.

WTH am I going to do now that I don't have to check Texas Online 100 times a day?

True. I've been doing it all morning now that you mention it. Sooner or later, my boss is going to figure it out.

just learn the "Alt-Tab" and make sure you have another window open, so Alt-Tab will put your other screen on top in an instant

Also need your toolbar at the bottom set on autohide.

None of this does me any good since TexasCHLForum is blocked at work. :banghead:

I don't know how it is not blocked here. Everything associated with firearms is blocked because it is a "weapons" category with out internet police, but I can get into this one. Go figure.

My status just went to "Fingerprints complete" this morning. I was sweating it because I had them done manually and was afraid that they would be rejected. I could just see adding a couple of more weeks delay to get them re-done electronically.

I tried a search but couldn't turn up the answer to the question "what physically is happening during a background check?" My home and work locations on the CHL application each had one line item and I haven't even had a traffic citation since we moved to Texas 22 years ago. I cannot imagine what would be holding mine up. If they are trying to contact my employer, that could be a problem since I gave them my "official" mailing address for my company and not my manager's official address (she is in Chicago.)

My oh my but the clock is running slower these days.
