Exactly, if I just knew where they were in the procedures I wouldn't be so worried about it. I called last week and was told I was still in background check.

I should have applied for my CHL a LONG time ago, just kinda never got around to it, anyways, my current timetable is as follows:

Completed Online Application: 11/05/15
Completed CHL Class: 11/07/15
Completed Fingerprinting: 11/13/15
Submitted All Paperwork to the DPS Online: 11/13/15
DPS Documents Received E-Mail: 11/16/15

Currently nothing has changed for me on the DPS website, it still asks if I want to apply as an instructor. I'm a former DPS employee (less than one year removed from service) I was hopeful that my background would still be on file.

I'm hopeful to have my plastic in hand by December 16th, but I doubt that's possible, is it?
I just got off the phone with the DPS, I was approved 12/17 and I'm currently in the print phase!

:thewave :thewave :thewave
My final update!

I have my plastic in hand! It was exactly 38 days (11/16) from confirmation till plastic in hand (12/23.)

The BEST Christmas gift I could get!

Online Application: 6/22/15
Fingerprinted: 9/11/15
Completed CHL Course: 12/6/15
Submitted CHL-100 and DD-214: 12/6/15
Email stating documents received 12/7/15
Now patiently waiting by the mailbox.

Hopefully, the long wait after my application and fingerprints doesn't affect how fast my application is approved.

Would you keep us updated on your responses or plastic cause I'm right after you?
My timeline
12-4-15 application
12-11-15 CHL-100,
12-17-15 fingerprints,

Called last week and nothing had been updated in their system. They actually told me initially they did not have my DD-214 or CHL-100. I'm hoping for a surprise in my mailbox when I return from vacation.

Dec. 12: CHL class
Dec. 16: Fingerprints, supporting documents sent via email.
Dec. 18: Confirmation on supporting documents.

No confirmation email as of now. Sigh, I have a feeling is going to be a looooooong 60 days... :???:
How did you send documents, snail mail or email? If snail then you won't get a confirmation.

How long will you be gone on vacation?? 6 to 7 weeks?? :headscratch Lucky. Cause your last timeline was 12/7, & from other posting's it looks like they (RSD) has just finished October's app's last week.

The arrest will hold you up. I just got off the phone with DPS and was told I was still in background and at least 30 days out. It's been 46 days up till now. The person I spoke to said that if you have a background that there is no specific time frame and the 60 days goes out the window. Be ready to wait awhile.

But if they're only misdemeanor's & it's over 10 years, shouldn't that not even count time off completing your license?

I have two DWI's. One in 2001 and one in 2005. Both class B's. So one is inside the ten years.

Wonder why they would be taken extra time then, it's not like those are secrets. Does 2 dwi's disqualify you? or is it just the paper work (approval) take longer??

Two DWI's in the ten years prior to the application date can disqualify you. They can deem you chemically dependent.
