I applied online Sept. 10. They lost most if not all applications on that day. I found out later the next week. Finally got fingerprints scheduled on Sept. 26th. As of yesterday my status is license in "manufacturing". From appearances I should be receiving in a few days.

I got mine and did the Wally Walk about 20 minutes after I got it out of the envelope. It felt all sorts of weird carrying out in public. I was VERY nervous about it, I felt like I was doing something wrong. Now that I have carried it for a few days I feel a lot better about it. Now my wife is tired of me asking her if she needs me to go to the store for anything.

Do they only manufacture licenses on specific days or after they get a certain number to make? Mine has been in "manufacturing" since at least the 19th. They will probably mail it while I am out of town. Will have to make sure I don't get stopped in Arkansas in case they check to see if I am licensed and don't show it to them.

I've spent a lot of money on guns, bullets and holsters.... The rest I've just squandered away!

License arrived on Saturday while I was out of town. I found it interesting that the envelope wasn't sealed. Only a piece of transparent tape holding the flap down. About 49 days from online application until received. Faster than I expected but would have been faster if the application hadn't gotten messed up. I think I lost about 10-14 days because of that.

Notice to new applicants. If your application does not show up to allow you to register for fingerprinting, don't hesitate to call the TXDPS number. Don't wait more than a week like I did.
