On day 61 I emailed my Senator (never got a response) and my State Rep (great guy, helped all he could), DPS called within a day and said they were waiting on background checks, I got it in 77 days, but it couldn't hurt to start emailing IMO.

Re: April 2009 Applications
77 days? Let's see, 77 days from the day I sent in the paperwork. That would put it on July 6. I really don't think so. But it would be nice. Today is day 52.

Argh , got a letter saying my Passport photo's was "dark".
Guess I have to re-take them and submit them in.
Question?
My new replacement passport photo , does my chl instructor have to sign it as well or/and a law enforcemet officer(of any kind?)??

Re: April 2009 Applications
If I remember correctly the folks that take the fingerprints have to sign the passport. So in your case since you have to redo them I would call DPS. I am sure there is somone on the board that knows that answer but its stumped me. I took my finger prints digitally and the girl who took my fingerprints signed the back of the passport photo.

Re: April 2009 Applications
You know... I'm normally a completely patient person, but I'm really starting to get annoyed at the fact that I mailed my stuff over two months ago and my PIN still shows that I'm not processing. I'm already leaving the country when I get my Master Degree cause of the crap I would have to put up with teaching under the control of our government... I'm about to tack on one more reason to that list... Incompetence...

So if you are planning on leaving the country, why get your CHL? Since you are planning on teaching, you most likely won't be returning. Just curious.

Re: April 2009 Applications
Two friends of mine have been murdered by illegally owned guns. I have always believed the only way to get rid of illegal guns is to have more legal guns. I'm going to school to be a college professor in Korea or Japan, and I have to get my Master degree. I'm still a few years away from that. I'd like to protect myself and my girlfriend while we are here (especially considering she is from Korea and not used to gun violence.. Their gun violence rate is less that 0.04% of the crime).gwtrikenut wrote: So if you are planning on leaving the country, why get your CHL? It says "No application or license/certificate active." I know they have it, because they mailed my PIN to me with me asking for it.usa1 wrote: that does'nt sound right...what exactly does the status say ?.....i would call to see whats going on

Re: April 2009 Applications
Yeah, they have instructions on the letter they send you with the PIN. I click on "Track the Status of your Application" and it tells me that there is no application... total incompetence..
It says "No application or license/certificate active" and by the way, I ment to say "They mailed the PIN without me asking for it.
