I've been reading through all of the other time-lines and it seems like 21 days to "application complete" is the minimum and around 30 days seems to be near the average. Unless something goes wrong you'll probably complete this week and me next week. I'm still holding out hope that it will all be done before the April 28th shutdown to support the census.Teamless wrote:- HighHandicap, by my best guess from others posts of late, my guess is my status should change on Thursday or Friday this week. Maybe that is optimistic, but also hopeful.HighHandicap wrote:I'm about 4 days behind Teamless.
I figure if it is Thursday this week, then I should have plastic by Monday or Tuesday [Edited to add: which would be about 30 days from DPS receipt to plastic in hand, which seems to be the recent norm] (I just HOPE my Crossbreed is here by then, they are taking MUCH longer than I hoped - but not longer (yet) than their website says).
So if my estimate is right, and you are right behind me, then I hope we both (and everyone else) gets off the CAS quickly!

Re: March 2010 Applications
Still here, still waiting and I am on the same schedule with HighHandicap. Once Teamless posts a change in his status, I anticipate changes to ours a day or two later. Hang tough!HighHandicap wrote:I'm about 4 days behind Teamless. I'm exhibiting all of the signs of CAS (CHL Anticipation Syndrome)...AddyLO wrote:
So who else do we have still waiting from the March list? I know Teamless is still in "Processing". Anyone else?

Re: March 2010 Applications
My guess on this, is that the finger print checks are done early in the process, as if we "fail" that, no other application processing needs to be done.HighHandicap wrote:will all be done before the April 28th shutdown to support the census.
So I think those that may submit their applications over the next 2 weeks will feel the pain of the Census issue, but those of us who sent in March, and maybe even weeks 1 and 2 in April will be good to go, and have no worries on the FBI print checks.

Re: March 2010 Applications
I guess the fates are with me: Application Completed - license issued or certificate active is my status as of this morning.
I REALLY thought my fingerprints would be rejected, but obviously my understanding of what comprises a passable fingerprint is not up to par (luckily for me)!

Re: March 2010 Applications
I hope you're right Teamless because I just checked the DPS Website for the 7th time this morning. Obsess much? I would love to have a DPS Rep come to the forum for either a Q&A or just give us the run down of the what the steps are and in what order the process occurs. I'm sure I'll care a lot less after my application is approved, but I'm still crazy enough to be curious!Teamless wrote:My guess on this, is that the finger print checks are done early in the process, as if we "fail" that, no other application processing needs to be done.HighHandicap wrote:will all be done before the April 28th shutdown to support the census.

Only 7 times so far?
you are WAY behind LOL
I find myself checking whenever I have 30 free seconds and ANYtime I see someone post that their status changed to Approved.
I would guess my last check last night was about 10pm and my first check today was at 515am, and would think I have checked at least 10 times since that initial check (and I think I will check again now LOL) - nope still no change from processing
I agree as well.HighHandicap wrote:I would love to have a DPS Rep come to the forum for either a Q&A or just give us the run down
if you did not see my post 2 weeks ago, I emailed DPS (and they are prompt on answers - at least to me) - I questioned my status, as it showed "Packet sent to applicant" for about 10 days, after I had confirmation that they received it.
The lady said that "my status was correct on the website", which made no sense to me, as in her same email she stated that they were "completing my background check",
Finally 3 days later, the status updated.
So i would also be very interested in how often they change, why they change, and ....... when I am getting my license LOL

Re: March 2010 Applications
I must be in the "wind down" period. I still feel like I should check the site even though my ordeal is over.
Re: March 2010 Applications
My status changed sometime between Saturday morning and Sunday evening. You would assume nobody is working on that over the weekend, so I chalk it up to some sort of timed/scheduled backend data update.

Re: March 2010 Applications
With the census FBI background checks on the horizon, I am wondering what will happen to the processing times. I am just glad I got my stuff in and done before the deadline.

Re: March 2010 Applications
The "shutdown" for the Census is only supposed to last a few days (4/28 - 05/03) so I don't think it will have a major impact on application processing... of course, while I say that I am hoping to have my application completed before 4/28!
