Almost another month down, still no update. When I called I was told "The process can sometimes take up to 60 days to complete. It looks like we are in the end stages of your background check."

I said "Ok I understand, but its been almost 90 days now. How much longer does a background check take?" Nothing but crickets after that. I'm not really an impatient person, but when I got a Secret Clearance it didn't take this long, and they were MORE in depth. I haven't received a letter saying I was denied, so I don't know what to expect at this point.

I thought I was the only one left!!

I mailed mine on 5/13
It updated to Background on 6/4
And I am still waiting....

My wife's was mailed the same day and she got here in 46 days. I called and spoke to Daniel and got the same response you did. I am starting to get frustrated.

Are you a veteran? I am wondering if that is what is taking so long.

Yeah I'm retired Army. I've had security clearance checks that didn't take this long.

I can only wonder is the sequester is slowing down access to our military records.

Same to you!

I guess the call and email to Sen Uresti's office helped a bit. I don't think it's a coincidence that 2 days after I do that, my status changes.

I

I feel your pain, I submitted 90 days ago and was told the same thing "Looks like your application is in the final stages". I thought at the time it sounded like a programmed response and now I am certain thats what it was. So I wont bother calling them any more its a waste of time. My wife only waited 75 days I'm going on 90 and I'm a CPA and my son has top security clearance so go figure. We have been vented by the ATF and for various govt programs, and to think I paid for this slow service. LOL

Are you still waiting for yours? I would suggest looking up who your Congressman is and give them a call. About a week after I did that, my status went to "Background Check Complete, Manufacture Pending". It's worth a shot at the very least.
