I'm willing to bet they had a team meeting down in Austin and told all of the phone people to just use the "yeah, well we've seen a 40% increase in applications since last year" line as their default response. I've called to Austin a couple of times, and it seems like before I woudl finish my sentance, they were starting into the "40% increase" liner.

I'm gonna start using that on my wife....<her> "Honey, don't you think you should mow the yard?"....<me> "yeah, well I've seen a 40% increase in my gas prices, so it will be another month until I can get to it"..

That matches the info I have been given also. At least we know they all have the same memo. :biggrinjester:

I'm a March applicant (barely) and still am on the Processing Application phase after 87 days in the system. I've made up my mind to give DPS a 30 day grace period. You'd think that a 40% increase in applications would scale linearly to a 40% increase in processing time, but after working in state government, anything logical or reasonable is hard to make happen.

Maybe I'll get some good news before I get frustrated and start writing letters...

In addition to being in the March group, I'm also in the Aggie class of 2002 group just like the OP.
Class Taken: 3/8/08
Hand Delivered: 3/25/08
PIN Recieved: Somewhere around 5/1/08
Plastic in Hand: 6/19/08
Total Time: 87 days

I'm an April applicant, and I haven't received squat. No PIN, no license, no nothing. Check was cashed in exactly 4 days, however. Any suggestions for me from anyone?

Bonz, I've seen you post on that 'other board' that is addicting.
CHL Class: 2/17/08
Mailed packet 4/07/08
Check Cleared 4/11/08
PIN # received 7/17/08
8/14/08 Status Application Completed - license issued or certificate active

They are just now getting March applications entered in the system. Two weeks ago they told a few of us that they were just now entering MID March applications. I bet the April entries are just around the corner. Go ahead...call them...give them your name :evil2: :reddevil ...that's the approach I took. I am last in line now. :smilelol5:

Thanks for the update. Hopefully I'll get a PIN or something in a month. :???:

WC, keep the faith.

This is a great board for information. I also just enjoy gawking at all the hardware that everyone else has.

Hopefully DPS will get their butts in gear. Kinda makes me regret being so quick to take care of my last DPS issued speeding ticket. But wait, there would probably be consequences for me!

I got my PIN today. Exactly 90 days after they received my app. Of course it says "processing application" when I checked status, but it does make me feel a little better.
My brother-in-law just got his plastic after 103 days. His app was received near the end of February.

Did you mean to say the end of March? End of April through today is about 45 days or so.

Thanks Bonz and others! I guess I still have waiting to do. Oh well, not much I can do about that.
