Two new March applicants (wife and myself):

2/12/2013 - online applications completed
3/3/2013 - fingerprints submitted
3/23/2013 - class completed
3/25/2013 - paperwork submitted to DPS

Based on other posts I have seen lately, I am hoping to see a change in status to background check started in the next week or so.

You guys do know this stuff isn't real time, right? On my renewal app I went from no update straight to Manufacture Pending. The next day updated to mailed. I doubt seriously they did everything in one day. That means whoever does the updates didn't get around to mine until everything was done.

That appears to be the case. But waiting on this chl reminds me of when I opened my very first Nintendo when I was about 7yrs old some 28yrs ago. Exciting stuff! So we all relent to watching our status and commenting here to pass some time and try to predict based on other's experiences here when that shiny new plastic might arrive. There really doesn't seem to be any common denominator here though. Perhaps this site gives us just enough info to know when NOT to expect plastic. Or perhaps help someone decide that it may be a good time to call DPS, say if you're over 60-70 days without an update. Of course there will always be those few that begin psycho dialing the DPS within 3 weeks of mailing their app regardless of all the indicators here because they think it will speed up the process somehow or maybe they feel privileged. Anyways, it's been fun hanging out here so unless my plastic doesn't arrive within a week or so this will likely be my last post. Good luck everyone and try not to pull your hair out just yet.

Cheers

Hello everyone! First time poster here. Not sure if I should be on the March or April thread!

Happy to join the forum and co-miserate with everyone else who is "waiting."

03/23 - Completed online application and paid the fee
04/03 - Packet of documents sent to TXDPS via USPS along with all required information

As of today 04/29, the TXDPS website still says "Application processed online. Concealed Handgun Licensing is waiting on receipt of required materials."

I unfortunately did not track the package of documents I sent in. So I have no way to confirm whether or not TXDPS received the package, and they have not responded to my email inquiries.

This is making me nervous ...

Don't be nervous, and your timeline would probably put you in the April thread since your full packet was mailed in April. They are currently processing mid-March packets - so that means you are probably about 2-4 weeks away from an update online.

Also keep in mind the online updates may lag behind your ACTUAL status.

Hello all,
I finally got an update today on the DPS website after sending in my goodies on March 11th.....

"Background Check : Under review"
"Concealed Handgun License : Print pending completion of application review"

and there it is, hopefully this will help some of you on the time line of what to expect....its nice to finally see a change in my status too. ;-)

Take care out there,

Sent mine in March 13th. I got my first update Sunday. Now waiting on the background review. :hurry:

Looks like a number of us have gotten good news the last few days!

And the wait continues.

Starting to get a little frustrated after reading the last 2 pages of posts! Sent packet in March 15th-everything else complete! Status still awaiting documents! Sent 2 separate emails asking if they at least had my paperwork and got the same robo reply back! Tried to call but all people busy--no answer. Will try to call again tomorrow. Don't mind the wait but I would like to know if they have my paperwork. I sure would hate to start over at this point! :confused5

3/2 CHL class/range test passed
3/2 Applied online
3/14 Fingerprints
3/15 Packet mailed
4/7 Application processed online awaiting receipt of required materials. Been this way for past 6 weeks!
