Time Seems to Drag!

#1

Post by Car_RamRod »

New to the forum. So I recently submitted my application and for everything else the weeks can really fly by, but now time seems to really drag! Guess I'm just anxious. Here's my timeline:

20 June- CHL 100 Class Complete
21 June- Online Application Complete
22 June- Fingerprints
23 June- All Supplemental Documents Sent Electronically (Received Receipt Confirmation Email)
23 June - Present- Waiting

I was hoping that since I'm active duty military the process would be faster since the FBI pretty much has every thing about me on file. But I heard that it doesn't make a difference. So now I just sit and wait. Hopefully there's no issues and I can see plastic in the mail soon.

Welcome to the forum!

You're about 11 days behind me and I just found out today mine was approved and already printed. You're right that it doesn't seem to be related to already being in files as I know in my own case, I'm sure my security clearance (and related FBI file) got my TSA pre-check moved along extremely quickly (had it within five days of applying), but seemed to have no impact here.

Oh ok. Cool, that gives me a good idea of a timeline for me. Hopefully it's there before I get back to Texas in 3 weeks. That way I can start carrying my Father's Day present. Thanks!

And hope the mail gets yours to you quickly.

Yea, I hear ya. Me too. Lucky for me, right now I'm in California and work keeps me busy. I can only imagine how it would be if I was in Texas. So looks like we both should see ours around the same time.

That's good and bad. Good because you are occupied. Bad because what if it's in your mailbox and you have a couple weeks left.

True...I'm sure once I know it's at my house I'm going to be counting down the days to get back. Gonna be staring at the clock and calendar

We've all been there!

Luckily we're not in the old days where it took months, rather than weeks.

Lol...isn't it though!? Can't wait for the sequel! Anywho...no, no word on it yet. Still the same "allow sufficient time for processing..." blah blah blah. Gonna give it the rest of this week before I start buggin on the phone. How about you?

I wouldn't bother calling until after 23 July or they will just tell you in no uncertain terms that you're too early. I know it's rough waiting. Mine was 10 weeks. Somehow it got stuck in limbo and took several calls and lots of incorrect information given me before I was able to get it freed up and issued by a supervisor. And I was a former LEO and former CHL holder so nothing seems to matter as far as speed. :waiting:

It will come sooner if you stop thinking about it for a month. Watched pot and all :thumbs2:

No I haven't checked mine yet. I probably will also wait to call, I have faith (for now) in the DPS.
