How long does it generally take to get a "status" for your application (after the email confirming receipt of your supporting docs & app)? When I log in to check, all I have is the option to apply for CHL Instructor.
*sigh*

My status changed after 23 days including weekends from the date of email confirmation.

Today is the 3 week mark since I received the confirmation email from RSD-CHL verifying receipt of my documents. I was curious as to why there hasn't been any change at TxDPS-RSD-CHL website.....so I called. I was told that it takes 6 WEEKS from that date (receipt conf. email date) for my application JUST to "process". After it finishes "processing" it will be 60 more days before my background check is complete...THEN I will have a "status change" on the website.
WOW. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Hang in there folks, you'll get your plastic eventually. After my lengthy experience I can safetly say that they are backlogged big time with the overflow of new applicants.

My advice is to email or call your regional state rep & complain about the wait time. Maybe that will get the ball rolling. It worked for me! :patriot:

You'd really think that they'd either hire more people or find a way to streamline the entire process. Like maybe allowing the regional DPS offices to do concealed handguns like they do driver's licenses, could probably lower the wait time from 4-6 weeks to maybe 2-4 weeks, which is totally manageable, even for someone as impatient as I am.

6/1/15 - Finished application
6/3/16 - did fingerprints
6/5/15 - received and uploaded CHL-100.
6/8/15 - received confirmation of receiving CHL supporting documents.

Geez, the waiting is killing me. :(

You're just four days ahead of me -- received my confirmation of receipt of supporting documents on 6/12/15 and nothing yet for me.

My State Rep Hubert won't tell me his position on HB560. How about yours?

Yeah, I check the website about one every two to three days out of curiosity, and mine still gives me the spiel about allowing enough time to process the application. I've also heard that they sometimes forget to update it, and some people on different carry forums get theirs when the website says they're being manufactured, and stuff like that. So, maybe that's what's going on with ours. My dad did his about two to three months before I did, and got his in 2-3 weeks, but he's also a federal firefighter, so maybe his stuff is already in the system. I'm not sure how they do their stuff.

EDIT: My status changed, just before the website went down, lol.
