Wow, so I figure I am looking at either 45 to 60 from the previous post that I have read.

I can not recall the time of application, but I know I took finger prints and the CHL course within 2 weeks my my online application.

I submitted all my PW via online, on May 14th. I have checked my status online, but get no information. I am setting a date to contact DPS on June 26th.

or should I wait until end of June.

***************UPDATE*********************

Today is the 3 week mark since I received the confirmation email from RSD-CHL verifying receipt of my documents. I was curious as to why there hasn't been any change at TxDPS-RSD-CHL website.....so I called. I was told that it takes 6 WEEKS from that date (receipt conf. email date) for my application JUST to "process". After it finishes "processing" it will be 60 more days before my background check is complete...THEN I will have a "status change" on the website.
WOW. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Wow, reading this, I might as well just wait until the cows (no actual cows in my area of texas) come home.

estimation:

May 14th, submitted PW online. + 60 days. July 13th, for step 1 processing. +60 days. Sept 14th. Wow...

Anyone else logging in and still saying you have a pending application? I checked my g/f app then I checked mine and it says I have a pending application. I've had a CHL for over 2yrs.
2/26-Mailed paper app and packet.
5/20-Plastic in hand.
83 days mailbox to mailbox.

**********UPDATE********
I called June 11th to see what "stage" my application was in. I was told that they could neither confirm nor deny my application "was even in process". I asked to confirm that all necessary info had been received for processing. The girl said that they were "waiting on my course completion paperwork". I asked if she was referring to my CHL100, and she said yes. I told her that it was sent via secured email on DPS-CHL portal on 5-21...asked should I send it again. She says no. I'm dumbfounded. I say okay and she goes into he spiel about how long it takes and if they need more info, they'll notify me by mail. I tell her...we're speaking right now, today ...and I can get you whatever you need. She asks if I got an email confirmation of receipt of additional docs..I say yes. She says that everything should be fine. Call ends with me still scratching my head. So I send an email (that same day) explaining what I was told and reiterate that I'm more than willing to resend docs if they're lost. Got a response yesterday confirming all docs WERE received and that she had submitted "an escalation" for my application to a supervisor in order to get it processed. It's been 6 weeks and my app needs "an escalation" in order to get processed?! Wow.

You're complaining about 6 weeks? Many here waited much longer than that.

I am amazed at the impatience. We have definitely become an immediate gratification society.

I would urge all to consider the sheer volume with which the DPS is dealing and understand that calling and sending duplicate docs only slows them down.

6 weeks to get STARTED processing my application, ummm yes...I'm complaining about that. 6 weeks (just to get started) is HARDLY "instant gratification".

How do you know they hadn't started it? They do not always keep the online status updated contemparaneously. Mine didn't change until the week t as mailed.

Escalated doesn't mean started. It may be it was escalated because they haven't heard back regarding your background checks.
