Does anyone know what the world is goin on with DPS right now? No updates whatsoever online they took down the site so it doesn't say anything. every time i call they add another 15 days to how long i should wait... like what the heck man. I was told to call at 30 days.. i did... they said wait to call till 45...i did... called again....then they said wait till 60... im at day 50 and im wondering what in the world is goin on.

60 days is about the norm. I really don't think people should call until then as it just takes time away from them being able to actually process applications.

It's not the best process in the world, but we just have to deal with it. After 60 days call, write your rep, do whatever you feel is necessary.

New to the forum, but I've been creeping on it for a while. Just thought I'd let y'all know.
I submitted all docs on 5/19 via email.
No status updates.
Contacted my state rep on 7/3, gave them my info and asked for some help getting status.
State rep contacted DPS on 7/7 (after the holiday weekend)
I just got a voicemail from DPS, saying my CHL was being printed and I should have it in a few days. 7/8

Coincidence? Maybe :fire

Started this process in early May. Sent all paperwork in second week of May. I have e-mailed several times with no replies. Called and got no answers. Now my husbands status thing has the whole address change thing on. But mine has not changed.I will call again tomorrow and see if there is an answer to be had. I hope my husband's is on the way. We will see. :banghead:

Same dates for both Wife and I.
Completed online CHL application: 5/6/2014
Completed fingerprinting: 5/9/2014
Completed CHL class: 5/10/2014
Completed and Mailed all required documents via USPS: 5/10/2014

[strike]No updates so far. I am going to try and just not think about it for a couple of months.[/strike]

Contacted State Representative via email: 7/5/2014
Received Phone Call From DPS: 7/8/2014
Received CHL: TBD
So I ended up contacting my state representative at day 53 (I figured in 3 days for mail delivery, so they probably received documents on 5/13/2014) after talking to someone at DPS who told me that it could take 90 days before they even show that they received my documents. My representative contacted me back and said that they are having "their contact from DPS" look into my application.

Anyway, 3 days later I received a phone call from DPS stating that they would like to update me that both mine and my wife's CHLs are being printed and we should have them in hand within 5-10 days.

Hi everyone.

Fingerprints done and docs uploaded 5/12. Received confirmation email 5/13. Usual silence after that.

Today the txapps site has address change options that weren't there yesterday. I guess that's the new "almost there" indicator. 57-58 days (depending on how you count) from upload to change of address. Just FYI.

Completed class - 1/23/14
Online app - 1/23/14
Fingerprinted - 5/29/14
Sent CHL-100, and checklist via USPS- 5/29/14

Sitting at around 41 days so far and haven't received any conformation email or anything, I called last week to see if they had received my docs because I never got an email or update and they told me to wait until about 8/1/14 before I call again because "It's too early to know if we have them yet"

Guess my wife and I should be getting ours next week then. We submitted 5/19. Had some friends get theirs recently and they all said it was an exactly 60 turn around for them.
Submitted all documets - 5/19

Even though a few people have already mentioned it. It looks like this is the page that is currently seen when your information has been processed. The change is that there are links to change your address/report stolen/etc.

Well I talked to the state today and I was told I'm still in the background check. I was told to give it 2 solid weeks more, but that it would probably be quicker than that.

Oneeye, what was the page like for you before it changed and when did it change for you. I'm not sure when mine changed to the same screen, although it was within the past couple weeks when the website went down.
