Re: February 2014 Applications
Well on Day 46 I got an update though not a happy one!
It turns out there was an issue with my CHL-100 form.
The CHL-100 was returned to me to get corrected. It has been corrected then re-submitted electronically last night.
So at least I am getting closer!
Today is Day 50!

Re: February 2014 Applications
Mine just changed to "mailed" but I still look at it just to make sure I read it correctly haha!CoolBreeze wrote:I have to admit. Once my status changed to mailed I stopped checking my status online. I still want to (I think out of sheer habit) but I don't. I have been able to resist checking the mail 20 times a day. I know it will be a few more days but I have to admit when I do go get the mail I rifle through it looking for the magic envelope. One day soon. One day soon.

I am sorry to hear that! Hopefully they will process it for you very soon.

Re: February 2014 Applications
I took my "Wally Walk" at Cabela's. I know, I know not the same but it was where I needed to go today. I did go to Radio Shack afterwards. First day now complete. Good Luck and I hope a speedy application process for everyone still waiting...

Re: February 2014 Applications
28 Jan - FAST completed
1 Feb - CHL Class completed
3 Feb - Recieved email stating "There were no attachments with your email."
4 Feb - Re-Uploaded Required documents and received same-day email - "We have received the documents attached to your email."
8 Apr - Status at "https://txapps.texas.gov/txapp/txdps/chl/" states: "Concealed Handgun Licensing is waiting on the receipt of required materials. Once the application and materials have been received by Concealed Handgun Licensing and processing has begun, a more detailed status will appear on this page."

Once the application and materials have been received by Concealed Handgun Licensing and processing has begun, a more detailed status will appear on this page."
21 Apr - Called TxDPS, spoke to Darryl, he stated that it's "probably too soon" (scratching my head). I stated "Well Darryl today is day 76 for me.." His response: "Yeah, we don't show a status for you yet, but the process COULD take up to 90 days". OH, but he did give me "ASSURANCE" that he saw where I received my 4 Feb. Documentation Confirmation. Guess that's my consolation prize...for now.

Re: February 2014 Applications
Well, I finally received my license. Here is my final timeline
2/10 fingerprints
2/12 class and uploaded documents
2/18 received response that documents were received
3/7 sent email requesting update.
3/27 Received reply - "We have received the necessary information for your CHL application No further action or documents are required on your part at this time"
4/9 called and was transferred to a specialist - " We have been having problems with online submission, we don't have your forms." He gave me his personal email to send them directly to him.
4/18 Received license.
64 days
If I had to do it all again, I would mail the documents instead of submitting them online.

Re: February 2014 Applications
This is my timeline.
Mailed all documents (snail mail) Feb. 21 along with final disposition of incident from 34 years ago, (that info was hard to find).
First update to website, April 5 (sat)
Received a letter from DPS April 19, (post marked april 15) stating they needed the disposition of the incident mentioned above.
Phone call to DPS on April 21, 45 minute wait to talk to someone who was EXTREMELY helpful. She found the "missing" paperwork in an archive file somewhere in her system.
April 22 Manufacturing pending.
April 23 status changed to mailed. 62 days to mailed status.
Application : Received
Fingerprints : Complete
Affidavits : Received
DL or ID : Valid
Citizenship : No documentation required
Passport photo holder : Received
Photo : Received
Proof of Classroom training : Received
Proof of Proficiency training : Received
Fee : Received
Background Check : Completed
Concealed Handgun License : Mailed
I would suggest to anyone mailing in extra paperwork, make sure the number you are given, that corresponds to your application, is clearly marked on "all" of you documents. Otherwise, you may be facing a longer (if that is possible) delay. Also, for all you web-site checkers, it only updates once a day at around 0600. Happy totin!

Congrats. Funny, I've been everywhere but wal-mart to do the walk. Just haven't had the time to go to wal-mart and honestly I stay the h3ll away from them as much as possible these days.
