Re: December Waiting
CHL Class - November 30, 2013
Fingerprints - December 5, 2013
Application and Fees submitted electronically - December 5, 2013
CHL status finally updated and showing CHL mailed - February 21, 2014.
I had not seen a status change on February 19, 2014 so I called the DPS and spoke on the phone explaining I was worried about things not seeming to move, the person I spoke to said they would speak to their supervisor. I was then told that the supervisor would personally see to it that my application process would be accelerated. They weren't kidding. I guess the squeaky wheel really does get the grease! Just thought I would share my experience...
Received my CHL in the mail today!!! - February 27, 2014.

Could they be working on Sunday?
Re: December Waiting
VICTORY! So today I called DPS and when you select option 1 to talk to CHL department it says they can't take calls so just call back and press 0 until you talk to someone. I told them I submitted everything on Dec 1st, 2013 and got a confirmation email on Jan 14th, 2014. Well the first person I talked to said sorry we don't have your CHL-100...apparently when I uploaded it online it was uploaded but I did not "save" it before hitting submit. Well the e-mail on the 14th said no further action is required on my part so I asked what they would do for me? The first guy said re-submit online and wait with everyone else. I wasn't satisfied so I asked to speak with a supervisor. I talked to him and explained everything and he asked if I still have the CHL 100 on my computer...obviously I do and he said to email it to his personal email. I then asked how long it would probably be and if I was going to be at the back of the line...He said we can probably be printing your license TOMORROW! Who knows if that will really happen but I will re-post with updates. So if you have been waiting as long as I have a call might be warranted cause there may be a mistake. Can't wait to get it and go celebrate with buying a new handgun!
Go Texas, best country in the world!
Also, everyone that I talked to was very nice and a Texan. Not some person overseas...they are doing something right.

Re: December Waiting
Been helping my mom out with her application. Everything submitted online November 27th, fingerprints done on December 2nd. Still no update online. She called Friday and after an hour of waiting got ahold of someone, said fingerprints received on December 6th; they said it could take another couple of weeks... Seems to be pretty ridiculous to me. She is pretty non-confrontational, wish she had asked to talk to a supervisor. Going on 81 days from the receipt of fingerprints with no update...

Re: December Waiting
Class done 11/30/13, all paper work scanned and turned on 12/5/13.
Website still hasn't updated.
Emailed them in late December, one month later got a reply that said I didn't need to do anything and it could take up to 8 weeks to get and update.
10 weeks after 12/5/13 i tried calling. While on hold i sent another email telling them it had been 10 weeks.
Finally talked to someone after 20+ minutes on hold, he said they are working on mid December aps and mine was probably in that group.
A week later they reply to my email that said I had been waiting 10 weeks, with "The timeline in which you will receive your Concealed Handgun license can be up to an 8 week process from the time the final documents were sent to the department."
So.... I guess they missed the whole 10 week part.
2/25/14 and still no updates.
