Re: October Applications
I am an October applicant. I mailed mine off on October 12th. I don't think holloween counts as a holiday so I'm going to say this is the fourth holiday during my application. Waiting on background check that shows to have started on January 12th

You have been waiting for a while. I hope you get a new update soon.Jweaver wrote:I am an October applicant. I mailed mine off on October 12th. Re: October Applications
Thanks. I'm hoping so too. Maybe tomorrow after the three day weekend. My conceal carry firearm has changed three times since I have applied. And I can't even conceal carry. The irony.imvirus wrote:You have been waiting for a while. I hope you get a new update soon.Jweaver wrote:I am an October applicant. I mailed mine off on October 12th. My application was made on-line on 10/6, and went to Austin FAST facility for fingerprinting on 10/24, and still no updates of any kind at all for me.Jweaver wrote:I am an October applicant. I wonder if the problem is that the DPS has to do extra work to find my FAST data and link it with my application or something. Does anyone here know about this?
I'd submitted an on-line request in November asking if they had everything, and all I got back was "we submitted your inquiry to a specialist" and never heard back from them again.

Re: October Applications
Submitted all documents and forms online 10/17/13.
Day 95 and I still have YET to have a status update.
The only thing I can think of that may be slowing me down is that I am a dual citizen. I did submit all the required documentation, but maybe it adds extra time on the application?

Re: October Applications
Ouch. I see November guys have started getting theirs now.
Re: October Applications
I submitted my stuff 10/21 and have not heard a thing yet either so I doubt it is the dual citizen that is slowing things down. (92 days) DPS just does not have their act together. Maybe the person that is working yours and mine is out sick or something. I tried calling today to see if I could get in touch with them and maybe ask about it but I only got a busy signal. Back in November I called and got through. The guy told me I would get it in 3 weeks if I was lucky and by February if I was not. Looking like I am not lucky.texsanlaura wrote:Submitted all documents and forms online 10/17/13.

Slobber:
I just called and spoke with a Customer Service Rep.
She told me that I need to resubmit my documents. She gave me a fax number and said to emphasize that this is my "Second Request".
I brought up the fact that it has been over 90 days since they received my application, and all she could say was "We have had a high application volume".
I told her I would be happy to resubmit my documents, but told her my concern that it would mean another 90 day wait.
She said that "Make sure you put Second Request on your documentation."
She then informed me that they would try to process it within 60 days.
So...now I'm looking at March??!?!
I can't imagine if a private sector charged $140 for something, and then failed to provide the service until 5-6 months afterwords just because "They have a high application volume"

CHL came in!!!! Started the whole process on the 28th of October! Only thing is, I don't get to use it until tomorrow because I'm off at college and have to make arrangements to pick it up... But tomorrow I will begin my journey! Adios everyone!

Re: October Applications
A few posts up I complained about "no progress" but now I see an update! But the screen has red X's
X Proof of Classroom training : Not received, notice sent to applicant
X Proof of Proficiency training : Not received, notice sent to applicant
I did include with my original application the CHL-100 with Instructor's # and signature, a document that I scanned to a PDF file and sent online.
1. Why might it say this--does the Instructor have to send something to them also, or do they need an Original of the document?
2. The above says "notice sent to applicant" but of course I have no emails from them--should I expect something in the USPS?
Any advice is welcome, thanks.

Re: October Applications
License came in today!!!
Didn't do a wally walk but I did do an academy walk. I actually felt very comfortable carrying, I thought I would be nervous at first but after the first couple minutes I felt just like I do any other day walking around a store, just safer.
Looks like I can finally put the waiting room behind me! Good luck to those stile waiting
