Finally, after 75 days (mailed in materials on Nov 4, 2013), my status on-line went from "waiting on the receipt of the required documents" to "background check: under review"!

Gary

Update: status changed to "concealed handgun license: manufacturing pending" on 1/19/14!

Update: status changed to "concealed handgun license: manufacturing" on 1/21/14!

Update: status changed to "concealed handgun license: mailed" on 1/22/14!

...just watchin' the mailbox now...

update: received CHL in the mail today (1/28/14), and as prescribed by recent legislation: it has "Veteran" printed on it.

I mailed my stuff on Nov 4th, on-line status finally shows as "background check: under review" today! So you should be seeing yours updated soon!

Says the DPS has hired temporary workers to help with the backlog.

Hope so.....

I'm still waiting for an update on my initial application submitted Nov. 15, 2013. Maybe will see something soon.

Hope so.....

I got an update over the weekend and with the extra help DPS is getting, it shouldn't be long 'till we get another update. :thumbs2:

That's great news, Joe! Congrats. That gives me hope. I also submitted my information electronically on 11/15. Still waiting for that status change.

After only 19 days, got an update yesterday that it was mailed! :woohoo

I submitted the required documents for a new application through the website on Nov 5, 2013 and the status is still "waiting". Since you guys submitting the week after me are getting new updates, I guess I will give them a couple more days and then try to contact them.

So I called them today, no documents received on November 5, 80 days ago. If you upload your documents through the website, be sure to call them after 30 days to make sure they got them. They did give me a fax number and a contact to try to expedite the process at this point.

skyhawk, Do you think it's possible that you did not hit the upload button when you submitted your paperwork?
I'd hate to see everyone calling to check on there status thereby jamming up the phone lines and wasting valuable time of the CHL "specialists". :)

Yeah, similar boat here. I didn't see an email confirming document receipt on Nov 11th and when I called, they couldn't see anything. I resubmitted online last week and will call in a week or two if I don't hear anything before then.

Made it to the end!

Application, fingerprints, and tests submitted 11/13/13 via email.

First update 1/20/14. Showed manufacturing.
Second update 1/22/14. Showed mailed.
Received plastic 1/24/14. (I'm in Austin so short trip for the mailman through the ice today. State offices were closed here in Austin, so it might slow the rest of y'all down by just one more day.)

Thanks gentlemen. I'll be waiting for you at Walmart. Won't be long for you....

Nope, call them ASAP. I hit 80 days a week ago and called, they told me the documents were never received although I have a confirmation email from them on the day I sent the docs. They gave me a FAX number and a name to send to them to in hopes of expediting the process since it is overdue. I have still had no response or status change in the past week.
