10/25 Online application.
10/25 FAST Fingerprints done.
11/09 Took class.
11/13 Docs, CHL100 submitted online via http://www.dps.texas.gov/rsd/contact/default.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
11/18 Email saying CHL docs were received and had been forwarded to "CHL specialist".

Status as of 01/03:
Spoke with a representative at the CHL office. Until they actually process your application you wont see any status update. Also, its when they process the application that they have thirty days to verify all of your information. She also said they they still have applications from October that they haven't processed. I am sure its because of the inclement weather and other delays that are putting them behind.

I don't think November people will be getting a license till maybe the end of February.

It's day 56 (8 weeks) and still no update. But I guess you have to give an extra 2 weeks because of the Holidays.

At least. Also remember that DPS had to renew a large percentage of the CHL instructors before the end of the year. IIRC, The only ones that would not have had to renew this year would have been those who became instructors in 2013.

In that case.... Give it at least a month extra. I'm still good on the wait since my XDS has not come back yet from the recall. :coolgleamA:

It's no big secret, DPS is entering apps from mid October now. You won't see a status change for several more weeks.

I got through to DPS and they told me that it would be at least 90 days to get an update. Not much we can do except wait.

Gary's update is depressing me. I got a hold of them by phone as well today. I was told they were working on the first week of Nov. and I should have mine within 14 days. They received my paperwork 11/4. Now I wonder if she was just buying them more time. She also mentioned that most likely I would not see a status update until it was done.

You were misinformed. They are still working on October, in fact they're only on mid-October. You won't see a status update for a few more weeks.
