Re: October Applications
Mailed everything on October 9th. 52 days and still waiting for the first update. Really was hoping to have license in hand by Thanksgiving. Now I'm shooting for Christmas, so to speak.
Re: October Applications
Same here. Mailed everything Oct. 9 with delivery conf 10/11/13. I get that they are back logged and all but then you need to hire more people. Seeing as we have a lot of people on unemployment insurance seems one or two of them could help with that process while being paid.
When I called DPS they told me basically that as long as I got proof they have it then they will have it taken care of. When I suggested doing it online she said that fax and online would have the same delay. Not to be rude or anything but at least update the site with you got the paperwork and are looking into it.

Re: October Applications
When I first started watching this thread in mid October the wait was under 30 days. I never was clear if the time was from when you applied on line, or when your documents were received. One lucky young man even cheered about 16 days.
I applied on line 15 October (46 days) and they received my documents 29 October (32 days). I never received anything from them saying they had my documents, but that's when they were signed for.
During that time I saw the waiting time go from under 30 to 35 to 45 to 50. Some folks have now been waiting 56 days.
The web site still says "Concealed Handgun Licensing is waiting on the receipt of required materials." The FAST hasn't cashed my check for fingerprints yet, it's been 38 days since I had them taken. There were some threads saying FAST is very slow at cashing the checks.
I'm not trying to unload because I know all of you are in the same boat. I will try to keep a positive attitude, but I still don't know if they have everything or not. Hopefully after the holiday they will be back at it and ready to go.
I guess I'll call late next week. If they "lost" my documents, I only have 25 miles to deliver them in person. Keep the faith.

Today I made a point to call Austin again, the lady was very nice and said that my application is pending print, don't know what that means as the website has not updated sense my 36th day…. Going on 55 today, she said that it could take up to another month to process from this point which would put me way past the 60 days which is in 5 days…
Best of luck to all, seems like they are getting further and further behind. Someone posted earlier that they should employee more people, this would be true as they have more money come in from all the applications to support the additions to head count.

Re: October Applications
Patience my friend. Many of those who have gone before you have waited much longer. Many in 07/08 waited 4-6 months. This too shall pass. Before you know it you'll be submitting your renewal.DCCS(SW/AW) Ret. wrote:DCCS(SW/AW) Ret. wrote:The date they recieved my documents was 10/10… Got my first update at 36 days, then it has stayed that way sense…. Re: October Applications
Mailed everything 10/4 just to recap. Still waiting for an update, no change in status at all. I did call , sat on hold for nearly an hour. The lady was very nice and said basically , they were backlogged to massive proportions. I was hoping to have my CHL by Thanksgiving, but now I to will hope I get it by Christmas. I am also glad there are others in the same boat with me. It helps.
Re: October Applications
Been watching this thread for a few weeks now and figured I would join in on the fun.
Chl class: Oct. 26
Online App: Oct. 26
Finger prints: Oct. 28
Paperwork mailed: Oct. 28
Notified that everything was received: Oct. 31
So here I am at day 33 and no updates online. Hoping to have some movement soon!

Re: October Applications
Submitted my forms online in early October, and mailed the paperwork on October 17, and the DPS site still says "waiting for paperwork." 48 days and counting.. I keep forgetting about the whole process for days at a time, and then something will remind me, I'll go check, and the status hasn't changed at all. Especially confusing when you see so many others getting 30 day turnaround times and less.. *sigh*
Re: October Applications
Wow I had posted my story in the wrong place before finding The Waiting Room and I'm here to join in the fun oops I mean whining & complaining. I had applied electronically Oct 6 but didn't get fingerprinted until the 24th so I guess I have a while to wait yet. Still it is maddening isn't it that they apparently wait basically until they have EVERYTHING to update their records.
Say do y'all know: if I submitted a scanned PDF doc of my signed CHL-100, does the instructor also have to submit as well? I suppose he did that but of course can't tell with a status that says only "waiting on materials"...
