Re: September Apps
QUESTION: When your screen is updated and states that your application is received, but has a yellow triangle w/exclamation mark beside it, does it mean anything (e.g. do we have to call DPS to inquire if something is wrong)? Every other area except the last 2 items (Background Check: Under review & Concealed Handgun License: Print pending completion of application review) have a green check. The last two items have the same yellow triangle with exclamation mark, which I can understand are not complete yet. Does the triangle by the application on top just mean that the whole application is not complete yet? Thanks in advance!

Sounds like they're making progress! I'm curious when you submitted your application...

DPS received my complete packet on Sept. 20 and I just received my first update. I am a newbie applicant here so I am learning the ropes of everything, lol. What I've learned is that the process (and the laws) have come a long way, but of course can still use some improvement. The biggest unknown right now is the waiting game, which is pretty inconsistent. Applications are not really logged in and processed on a first come first served basis. The are just processed however they do them. Does not matter if you mail it regular, certified or electronically. I don't understand the system. I don't know if the employees who process them have case loads or flow charts where management track efficiencies. Some folks get lucky and receive their chl prior to individuals who submitted their applications before them, some folks do not. For such a serious constitutional right and liberty, I am taken back at the process because I thought everything would be more efficient/refined here in 2013, but such is life. Honestly, I believe the employees responsible to process chl's are doing the best they can with the cards they have been dealt, especially when they become inundated with applications. Perhaps if the system they use was modernized things would move along more quickly. In reality, once I discovered the current process, I just planned for 60 days. With this being day 46 of 60, I optimistically look forward to my chl in 14 days, lol! (Hopefully)

Re: September Apps
No, there hasn't ever been any change in our status. Both my wife's & mine look the same as they did 2 weeks ago. Tomorrow will be 5 weeks since we submitted our apps.

Does it say what is required that has not been received?bluerooster02 wrote:Still listed as "awaiting required materials."
Did you send in all necessary documents and materials?
Did you get a letter from them yet stating something is needed?
I would think after 40 days or so, a phone call or email to them to see what required materials you are missing.

License Status: Application processed online. Concealed Handgun Licensing is waiting on the receipt of required materials. Once the application and materials have been received by Concealed Handgun Licensing and processing has begun, a more detailed status will appear on this page.
I included my Checklist, CHL-100, and FastPASS receipt in my submission.
Haven't had any communication from them to date. Sent an email this morning asking them to confirm that they received submission on 9/25.

Is the FastPASS receipt required? I didn't see it on the checklist, so I didn't include it.bluerooster02 wrote:Still at this screen:Teamless wrote:Does it say what is required that has not been received?bluerooster02 wrote:Still listed as "awaiting required materials."

Re: September Apps
Blue, a fella at the top of the page here submitted a day before you and his was mailed on the 1st. I suspect that may mean you're close. I understand completion of the apps can't be 1st come, 1st served due to the time backgrounds take will vary from applicant to applicant. But you gotta be close. As for me, at a day short of 5 weeks, I'm just going to check back next Monday. I think Austin got buried with renewals and processing time isn't going to be close to the 16 days some folks experienced last month. Probably be closer to 45-50 days.

The FastPass receipt is required because the person who does your fingerprints sign off on that form.Bozz48 wrote:Is the FastPASS receipt required? Re: September Apps
I was told the fastPass receipt was for my records and did not need to be sent in. I didn't send mine. I have been told by DPS via phone they have all of the required documents. For what that is worth, they have had them since 9/16/13 and still no update. Per their own employee they are still waiting on material they have had for 50 days. A week from Fri will be 60 days.

Don't worry about it. It stays like that all the way until mailed. Why? I don't know.BewaffneteBürger wrote:Anyone??BewaffneteBürger wrote:QUESTION: When your screen is updated and states that your application is received, but has a yellow triangle w/exclamation mark beside it, does it mean anything (e.g. do we have to call DPS to inquire if something is wrong)?
