talked to dan and he said everthing looked good , he said he was going to email the dept. to hurry up . so i asked what kind of time frame should've be concerned he said four weeks . I guess you have to keep buging them the sqeeky Wheel gets the grease.

This will be my final post in the "waiting room" as wife and I both received our CHLs this past week. For me it was 72 days from mailbox to mailbox and 74 for the wife. For those of you still waiting, be assured your day is coming. Here is my final schedule:

2/12/2013 - online applications completed
3/3/2013 - fingerprints submitted
3/23/2013 - class completed
3/25/2013 - paperwork submitted to DPS
5/7/2013 – first update: background check started
5/29/2013 – second update: manufacturing pending
5/30/2013 – third update: mailed
6/5/2013 – fourth update: mine received
6/7/2013 – fifth update: wife’s received

Here's my timeline (this was my second renewal). Uploading documents may have cost me a month... But maybe, not judging from some other timelines.

3/14/2013 - Documents uploaded.
4/15/2013 - "CHL Assistance" email received from DPS; I replied with "What? I didn't request any assistance."
4/15/2013 - "CHL Documents Received" email received from DPS.
4/19/2013 - "The email we received on 3/14/2013 did not have any documents attached." email received from DPS.
4/19/2013 - Documents sent by email.
5/23/2013 - Status changed to "documents received, background check under review."
5/24/2013 - Fingerprints changed to "Under review."
5/26/2013 - Fingerprints changed to "Complete."
6/02/2013 - Background Check changed to "Completed", "Concealed Handgun License" changed to "Manufacturing Pending."
6/04/2013 - AM - "Concealed Handgun License" changed to "Manufacturing."
6/06/2013 - AM - "Concealed Handgun License" changed to "Mailed."
6/07/2013 - Postmarked.
6/10/2013 - Received.

Been waiting since March 28th and finally out of background and manufacturing pending!!!!

Took several calls and an email to my State Representative to get it done!

Just received a letter from the DPS stating that I need to submit a certified search record from BOTH the County Clerk and the District Clerk instead of just the Travis County Clerk like I had thought for disposition information from an arrest 17 years ago that I was never charged for. Looks like I'm taking a day off this week to head back down to Austin and chase paperwork again. I would hope that this wouldn't put my application at the beginning of that whole 60 day time frame again, but who knows. After this and the letter I got from them last month telling me that they didn't receive my CHL-100 after their own system said they did, I think I'm just gonna submit these last two docs and then forget about the whole thing until either I get my plastic or a denial letter.

To all of my fellow March applicants who got their plastic or are waiting for your mail carrier to get to you, congratulations, stay safe and I hope you never have to use them for what they are intended for.
To those who are still in Background Review or waiting for some kind of update, keep your heads up and best of luck to ya.
