Hope everyone had a good Memorial Day weekend. I finally have plastic in hand today after mailing my stuff in on March 11th.....soooooo.....that's 2 months and 16 days for those following the length of the average processing times. I'm sure the folks in Austin are swamped. Anyway, be patient, it will come.

1st update on website 5/6 (checked daily)
Application : Received
Fingerprints : Complete
Affidavits : Received
DL or ID : Valid
Citizenship : No documentation required
Passport photo holder : Received
Photo : Received
Proof of Classroom training : Received
Proof of Proficiency training : Received
Proof of Special Condition : Received
Fee : Received
Background Check : Under review
Concealed Handgun License : Print pending completion of application review

Almost 60 days to show anything! But happy with what I see.
2nd update, 5/25 (checked daily):
Background Check : Completed
Concealed Handgun License : Manufacturing Pending

19 days in background review! (Surprising because I had a Top Secret clearance from the Army, although 15 years ago. I've lived at the same address for 12 years now, and the only time I've left the country was a trip to Canada about 7 years ago.)

At any rate, I'm happy with progress.
3rd update, 5/28
Concealed Handgun License : Mailed

Hopefully, I'll update tomorrow with "plastic in hand!"

Guys I sent my packet in on or around March 27, 2013. I did this a full week ahead of my buddy that I took my class with. His status online has already changed and mine still show that they are waiting on my paperwork. I have tried contacting the DPS a few time with absolutely no response. Seeing as how everyone here appears to be moving right along what is the suggested next steps?

Exactly 3 weeks to the day after my background check was started, it is now completed and my CHL is pending manufacturing.

Wife is still in background check and hers was started the same day as mine. We both have clean records so not quite sure why hers is not complete. Hopefully it is just a minor clerical delay and her CHL will be pending manufacturing in the next day or two.
