Well, still no update! I guess I'm going to be one of those people stuck in background purgatory!!! Frustrating to see people on here go into background review the same time I did or later and they are being manufactured or mailed aleady!!! Clean record, same address for last 16 years, and nothing!!!

I'm right with you. Almost three weeks and counting on my background check. Sent in all materials on March 9th. CHL class completed on Feb. 17th. Updated to material received on April 27. They can't keep us in the waiting room forever. It is very frustrating to see others getting their plastic in hand, and you have sent your documents in ahead of them. I wonder if anyone down there in Austin is keeping up with our online forum? Do they know that we keep track of their insufficiencies? Just wondering.

I definately feel for you guys I was in Background review for a full month. Even when i called last week the gentleman I spoke with told me to expect to be under review for another 3 weeks! i guess they have no idea whats going on with BR they just wait to get them back from the FBI..anyways keep your head up guys

It took 63 days from the time DPS signed for my packet before I got my first update, I think this is why my BG check only took 10 days. Finally went to mailed today, 76 days so far.

I just don't get how there can be such a wide array of differences in background checks!! Especially if you know your background is clean!!! I trully believe it is the luck of the draw on who is processing your application! Some people are more efficient at their jobs than others!! IMHO!!

Whoever processed my app was on the ball! Only sat in background check for 5 days. My mom sent her app in a week before me, got updated as "received" on the same day as mine though, and is STILL waiting on background (clean record).

Mine shows as mailed today. Hope it doesn't sit in a "to be mailed" pile for too long.
