Awesome! The next two days are exciting because your status changes everyday.

Unfortunately, the wait is not over. When it finally says "Mailed", It sits in someones pile for a week or so.

My status went to mailed on the 10th, no plastic as of yet.

Update: Plastic was waiting for me in the mail today, like a glorious christmas gift radiating the twinkles of the lights and tinsel. I even heard angelic voices singing the Hallelujah Chorus when I opened the mailbox.

I sent mine out to the DPS Priority mail on 10/23, still haven't changed any sort of status, website says they are still waiting to receive paperwork, though like many of you have said, sometimes it takes a while for that to update even though it's already been processed. At any rate.

10/13 took CHL course
10/23 submitted fingerprints and sent paperwork to DPS

Hopefully I get it before Thanksgiving! I'd love to do my wally walk to pick up some turkey and mashed taters! Right now I'm just eagerly waiting for that status to change while I'm here at work doing the graveyard shift exploring many more threads on this wonderful forum, and it shall be many more graveyard shifts until I see an update or see some plastic in my hand!

FINALLY!!! I have been avoiding this forum since the DPS received my paper work so I wouldn't get mad over people receiving their "plastic" before me. Well I checked this morning and I'm pending manufacturing !!!!!

Well new to the site. Not new to waiting on my CHL. Hopefully someone can help me out with some info. I know the 60 day rule before contacting DPS but seeing a crap ton of people who have submitted there paperwork long after me already have it, has gotten me to wonder.

Submited my paperwork to DPS: Oct. 13th
I want to say DPS updated my status to background check under review the same they received it wanna say: Between Nov 2nd and the 9th. Sorry didnt keep track of dates really well.


Still in background check under review. Never knew waiting for this thing could be so hard.

But question is mine will be a non resident CHL does anyone know if those take longer to complete because of the out of state address and everything?

Please help patience is not my strong suit.

Yes, non resident background checks tend to take longer. It will happen.

I'm right there with you. I submitted all of my paperwork on 10/21/12 and I am still in background review and I have seen others who mailed theirs in after mine that already have plastic in hand. Doesn't seem like there is anything else to do but wait, and maybe vent a little bit on this board.

Hello everyone, I am new to the forum and have not seen anyone post and give status of a new application completely done online. I am one of the idiots that let their license expire and then waited two months after I couldn’t renew to start the whole process again and pay more money.

11/29 CHL Class New Applicant
11/30 Online Application
12/3 Uploaded Checklist, CHL-6 (Please Use Texas DL Photo written on it), CHL-100,DD214
12/4 Fingerprints complete – Uploaded FAST Form and Passport Photos (Just in Case)
12/5 Email received that said Checklist, CHL-6, CHL-100, DD214 sent to “data entry”

So far it looks like I am at least getting some sort of update on where my stuff is in the system via email. I will update as I am updated.

For those that are not sure of where to upload the files, it took me a while to find because none of the links that have been supplied liked my browser, here is where it is:
