11 Days w/o DPS Acknowledgment
Nine days after sending in my completed package there was still no status change online to indicate receipt. So I wrote DPS an email which was answered today. Here's an excerpt - "Once documents are received by the department, they undergo processing before being entered into the system for the applicant to track. Please allow more time for your record to reflect the receipt of documentation. Right now, it takes 3-4 weeks before we can see a status of your application materials". Silly me, I thought they would have logged the package in and updated the status as received.
Looking forward to receiving my plastic as a Christmas present.

I mailed my packet on the 29th of October from Houston. I just now saw a status update on the site today, so I wouldn't sweat it.
Just keep refreshing the page and keep on waiting.

They will update parts as the process goes through it just seems they are going slow as heck right now. It took me over 3 weeks before the first update and another 2 weeks before showing completed. It also took 14 days for me to get plastic in hand from the day it said mailed.

They're still faster than IRS refunds of our own money.

Re: 11 Days w/o DPS Acknowledgment
Thanks guys,
I guess what bothered me is the lack of a simple acknowledgement. I would hate to wait a month and then find that they had not even received the package. Guess I should have sent it registered mail so I would at least have some evidence It was received...oh well, next time I'll know better.

Re: 11 Days w/o DPS Acknowledgment
Glad I saw this area today. I was getting concerned about the lack of status change. Sent in my completed packet on Nov 14th (had done the online app and fingerprints a couple weeks prior to my class) and it still says waiting on stuff. I thought maybe the holiday slowed stuff down. Was going to call DPS on Monday. This post saves me from doing that though. Guess I'll try and be patient and maybe wait until next Friday to check again.
Thanks for the info

I guess I spoke too soon - it's now been another three weeks with no further progress since 11/20. I thought for sure I would have the license before Christmas. Ha, at this rate maybe Easter????

Re: 11 Days w/o DPS Acknowledgment
Glad I read this aswell, but i mailed all my info over a month ago and still nothing showing up on website log in. I did not send package under conformation and now feeling stupid for not doing so. Just a bit frustrating. Glad I found this site to vent with others and see yall going through the same. So whats "normal time" before something shows on status website. Thanks all!!

OK, it finally showing everything is in the working. Let the waiting game begin. All checks except background check.....
Re: 11 Days w/o DPS Acknowledgment
Two or three weeks is typical. Many instructors suggest paying the post office for delivery confirmation.

Um, he's sick. My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious.stevethe6th wrote:Buehler?......Buehler?.......yawn.....
