Hey everyone, I am new here. Just found this forum and thought I would provide my CHL status information. Looks like a great site and I can't wait to check it out more.

12/25/11 - DPS online Application completed (Christmas present)
12/28/11 - L1 Fingerprints completed
12/30/11 - CHL class training completed
01/03/12 - Packet Mailed
01/05/12 - Certified mail confirmed delivery @ DPS P.O. Box
01/12/12 - Background check status changed to "under review"

Nothing changed since... I will update with further changes.

Yes, Lots of info here, almost a continuing education course in itself.

Welcome to the forum! Good luck with getting your CHL processed (and quickly). In the meantime, you've got the right idea to check out the material here on this site -- there's lots of good info here!

That would be a pretty deep background check, lol. I wore my Dallas Stars hat for my passport photos so maybe they will take it easy on me. :biggrinjester:

Yeah mine was under review for some 37-38 days, because of some ancient PI convictions from way back around 1970. Took them a while to look all those up. Now it's in "Manufacturing" status. I'm really looking forward to saying goodbye to you guys...... :cool:

I got mine on 5/16 of last year. I still have not said "goodbye to you guys". I think it is one of my unofficial duties to come in here and cheer the troops on. Besides, it is a lot of fun to share the enthusiasm that sets in, 1) when the status first changes, 2) when the status changes to "manufacture pending", 3) once the status changes to mailed and, of course, that joyous moment when you pull that magic envelope out of the mailbox and decide to share it with your fellow forum members.

I wish a lot more people would stick around here, or at least visit once in awhile.

Just checked DPS website and the background check has been completed! Now in the "manufacturing pending" phase. It is actually moving a lot faster than I expected,I figured it would be right at the 60 days they quote. When does the government ever get anything done before deadlines? God I love Texas. Now if we could just get away from the federal gov.
