Re: Class of August 2011 reunion
Hey XDM. I have been carrying a full size Beretta in a IWB White Hat and it's not bothered me in the least. Nice thing about them is you can change outthe plastic piece for different guns to have more than one holster. Nice feature..
I've spent a lot of money on guns, bullets and holsters.... The rest I've just squandered away!
Re: Class of August 2011 reunion
I posted this story in the ladies forum, so in case you don't look there much, I'm telling you guys about it here. We are having a girls night out at Spring Guns and Ammo next Wednesday. I had talked to one girl's husband about if she might want to come with me (he's an avid gun nut). I went to see her today in the company of another lady whose position on guns I'm not sure of (she has lived in the northeast for much of her life...)
So I was telling the first girl about this event, but didn't want to exclude the other lady, either, if she wanted to come. I was telling them of another person who had already committed to coming with me. This person had said she was more familiar with rifles than handguns, but liked to shoot whatever. The lady from the northeast asked me why I prefered handguns. I told her that it was more a matter of starting small and practicality. I said, "Its not like I'm going to strap on a rifle and carry it around the neighborhood!" She responded, "It's not like you'd be carring around a handgun, either!" (Little did she know I was carrying!) I just said, "Right?!" as though in total agreement!
It's going to be a funny conversation when I get back together with the girl I was actually inviting who know I have my CHL! And it confirms that I was right about my suspicions about my friend from the northeast!
I just got Lasik on Monday, so we will see how sighting goes since my near vision isn't as sharp as it was with my glasses.

Re: Class of August 2011 reunion
Have fun tonight bluejay. Let us know how it goes. I wish there was something a little closer to Dallas I could get my wife involved in. BTW, not all nor' Easters are against guns.....
I lived there for 35 years and grew up with guns all around me. I got here as fast as I could as they say!

Sad news to report today
I wanted to share this as I am hoping just talking about it will bring me some sense of wellness. Yesterday I lost my longtime friend, Blossom. Blossom was a 15 year old yellow lab who was everything a great dog is supposed to be. She offered my family unconditional love, warm kisses and was always up for a back scratch, a car ride (especially if was to the lake) or in the later years just hanging around watching TV. She'll be missed and it will be a long time before I stop thinking about her...

My condolences, Grapevine. We all know these days will come, but it never prepares us for the void left by the absence of others in our lives.

Grapevine,
My family calls me a dog whisperer because of the close connection I have with most dogs. My dogs are a part of my family, and we cry like babies if one dies. My sympathy goes out to you.
