Received the permit today. From class at Spring Guns and Ammo on 8/27/11 to receipt today. Not a bad process other than the fingerprint company inefficiency and the delay in DPS receiving them (9/16/11).

My choice of friends to accompany me.

So let me get this straight so I don't step out of bounds here. Is Stroguy saying he received his plastic on October 8th? If so I am not the last to graduate...... I was sort of liking that honor... Glad you're certified Stroguy and welcome to the room.
I've spent a lot of money on guns, bullets and holsters.... The rest I've just squandered away!

RUTRO! Not here to take honors away, haha. The L1 finger-printer in Humble was a nightmare. I did the class on 8/27 and scheduled my prints ASAP on the 31st, same day my app hit the USPS. But the finger-print company had a so-called computer glitch and was doing everything old school (paper and pencil). I was going to have to wait almost 3 hours for my prints to be done on my scheduled day. The finger print worker asked if I would come the next morning, 9/1 at 6:30AM. I was there at 6:15. DPS said they did not receive the prints until 9/16.

But hey it is over and I am a graduate.
