Mailed my package on 09/01. Been stuck on BG Review for a couple of weeks. A friend of mine mailed his a few days before me and already has plastic. Wondering if military records (DD-214) slow things down?

DPS must have been busy because I got my plastic today too!

Interestingly, DPS updated the system and said they mailed it on 9/24 (Saturday), but the postmark was 9/27 (Tuesday).

@Bubbahyde, I know the more quests they have to make the longer it takes. Meaning if there is something on your record they need information about to verify they need to send a request to the record holder, in your case the military (?), and then they wait to get it back. Mine took 19 days to clear the BG check with the DPS waiting on paperwork from Tarrant County. Just so they could say they had it.....

@Grapevinebill--yeah, that's kinda what I was thinking. More docs=more verification=more time. Oh well, I did get a 50% discount as a vet. I guess patience is a virtue, huh? Frustrating though. I'm starting to obsess a little about checking the DPS website.

Mine still says manufacturing this morning but hopefully it gets mailed today. Quick process so far though.

I am still on Manufacturing as well... Like SXD45 said... Hopefully we see mailed today. We know the finish line is in sight but we have to keep on pushing brother!

@Bubbahyde, I know what you mean about the obsession... I can't telly you how often I was checking once I saw that they received my app and started the BG check. It drove me crazy. Even now that I know it was approved I amstill checking about 5 or 6 times a day. If it takes 3 weeks for your BG check give them a call to see what the hold up is.

I just checked mine and it is still manufacturing, no more checking today for me just frustrates me more lol.

I understand they ran out of the holographic stock used for the cards and there is a national backorder on it...it may be 30 to 60 days before they get any more in.
