January 2011 Applications

Re: January 2011 Applications
Urggggg....DPS received my packet on 1/25, 5 weeks later still waiting on fingerprints and background to complete. I had high hopes after reading several Jan apps had quick processing. Since i log in twice a day looking for updates, i think DPS is toying with me now!

5 weeks for fingerprints, how did you do them?rhino8005 wrote:Urggggg....DPS received my packet on 1/25, 5 weeks later still waiting on fingerprints and background to complete. My fingerprints were good to go when my status was updated online, but I did FAST.

Ditto, but mine received on the 31st.rhino8005 wrote:DPS received my packet on 1/25, 5 weeks later still waiting on fingerprints and background to complete.
I'm settled in for the long haul. Not really gonna worry about it until 60 has passed.

Re: January 2011 Applications
Mine was received by DPS on the 1/26. Prints (rolled) were rejected. I went to L-1 and 2 days later they showed "Complete". No further progress since 2/25 though.rhino8005 wrote:Urggggg....DPS received my packet on 1/25, 5 weeks later still waiting on fingerprints and background to complete. Re: January 2011 Applications
Called today, I was on day 56 with background still pending. I self-reported an arrest which was dismissed and I was wondering if that was holding things up. I called, waited about 30 min on hold finally I got someone and they transferred me to the technician who was handling my application. She said all I would need to do was fax a copy of the dismissal slip from court and she would clear my app. So should be pending manufacture soon!

Did you not supply all the documents relating to your arrest and it's dismissal when you sent in your application?

Re: January 2011 Applications
I didn't it wasnt a certified copy per instructions so I didn't bother to send it in, and my instructor said it probably wouldn't make much of a difference anyway. Just ended up waiting a bit longer now.Rebel wrote:Did you not supply all the documents relating to your arrest and it's dismissal when you sent in your application?

Re: January 2011 Applications
yeah, judging by how long it's taken for most others to get theirs after their status said mailed i wasn't expecting anything until next week sometime so i was a bit surprised to see it in the mailbox today. heck it might have even been here yesterday, i hadn't checked the mail since tuesday.jcarp02 wrote:Congrats! 3/3- Plastic in hand, Home Depot an hour later picking up a small load of lumber.bcdudley wrote:1/8 - CHL Class
1/9 - Applied online
1/9 - Mailed package with cheapest mail option possible
1/10 - Status first showed on DPS
1/10 -- Fee : Received
1/11 - Application : Received
1/13 - Had to mail in more proof of military service. DD214 was not sufficient
1/14 - Fingerprints : Complete
1/20 - All documents received, waiting on background check.
2/17 - Called DPS to inquire the status. I was told the background check came back over a week ago and was pending review. Left message for processor to call me back.
2/18 - Processor called me back. She told me that because I had a couple of speeding tickets, it took longer than normal. They have to send it through a different type of background check. She told me that she had approved my application and background check and I should receive my license with 10 to 12 business days. Status on the web site still says background check is pending.
2/20 - Background Check : Completed, Concealed Handgun License : Manufacturing Pending
2/22 - Manufacturing
2/26 - Mailed
Re: January 2011 Applications
The following I posted in December's Waiting Room. I mailed it in December and they received it after the new year holiday weekend so I thought I'd post it here as well.
It took unusually long for me. I checked last night and the fingerprints and background were still pending. I counted the days from when they received it and yesterday and determined they had my packet for 60 days exactly.
Checked it this morning and it finally says manufacture pending. I'm active duty and have been resided in 2 other states....not to mention the trouble I was in when I was a kid (over 20 years ago). Just as in when I applied for a clearance, I disclosed everything including police records with my packet.
Hopefully, I won't have to wait as long as other to finally get it in my hands.

Re: January 2011 Applications
congrats, judging by my experience and a few others more recently, the mailing process isn't taking as long as before. both bcdudley and myself had our status change to "mailed" over the weekend and received our plastic yesterday. for me it was exactly a week from the time i saw "manufacture pending" to plastic-in-hand. hopefully you'll get yours sometime next week.Ramfan wrote:The following I posted in December's Waiting Room.
