are you guys with these 2 weeks times renewing, or submitting a whole new application?

I mailed my application in on january 27 they recieved it on the 31st , they cashed the check on 2/6/2011 , I keep checking the system on there web site but it will not let me log in , I did called they said it would take up to 3 weeks to get me into the system , I submited everything by mail , is this normal

Yes, simply put
But really, you will probably see activity on-line at about the 2 week mark.

The next 30 days or so, until you get your license, are the longest and hardest of this entire process.... waiting patiently (or not!)
Take the time to read the forum, as questions, learn as much as you can, then when you get your license, keep reading, learning, etc. .. it never stops

24 days from arriving at their mailbox, I had my license arrive at my mailbox. This is the first time application for me.

still waiting on background check

applied on 1/1/11, mailed packet on 1/3/11, received by DPS either 1/6 or 1/7. so i'm right around 6 weeks, hopefully it won't be much longer. i sent an email this morning just to see if there were any holdups that i needed to be aware of, they said if they needed anything i'd get a letter in the mail but i haven't received anything yet. i'm getting anxious now, i'm tired of carrying around a rubber band gun. i fought off a pack of ninjas the other night with it. i think ninjas may be allergic to rubber, as soon as they saw the rubber bands come out they were out of there before i knew they were gone... oddly enough my socks were missing when i got home though, not sure how that happened , but if i were cornered by a street gang i'd be outgunned big time.

Still waiting. Packet was recieved on the 20th. Everything is green except the Application has a a yellow triangle and is marked recieved, the background check is under review. I see a few others with similar time frames are starting to hit the mailbox so mine should be soon.
