17 days mailbox to mailbox. And with that...Ladies and Gentlemen, karateclarinet has left the Waiting Room!
....er, I know I must be out of date with the new math, but isn't 29 - 3 = 26 days?

I stand corrected. I'm a musician, not a mathematician. That's what I get for counting on my fingers.:
That's ok! We can blame it on the air quality from nearby Houston! :txflag:

:woohoo Plastic here too! It's been fun waiting but I'm glad it's over. Had to settle for a trip to Supercuts and gas at Kroger, though. Wally World will have to wait a few days. :woohoo

Howdy All,
I just found this nice forum and signed up. It looks like there is a treasure trove's worth of information to read here. What follows is the time line for my CHL application submission so far:
Online application submitted to DPS (My instructor had us do this ahead of time): Jan. 17
Class completed: Jan. 22
All forms to DPS in Austin (It was part of the class fee for the instructor to drop them off): Jan. 24
As of Jan. 31, the only non-green item is Background check: Under review

It is all is going quite swiftly for a government licensing operation. :txflag:

Cheers from Dripping Springs,

welcome to the site, this forum is an excellent resource and many will tell you that they learn more about the CHL laws here than they did in their course (or at least what you read on here will reaffirm what you've learned in your course). if you have a clean background (i.e. no arrests or convictions) then you can probably expect to have plastic in hand within a month.

I had the same address issue and just happened to catch the difference on the checklist. I feel your pain. They seem to have it together these days compared to what I've read. You probably have a lot of company. I'll bet they open a lot of packets, see the barcode and forward them to the correct department every day. Might set you back a day at most for interoffice mail. Hang in there! :patriot:

Thanks for the cheering up. I appreciate it. This reminds me of when I was a kid and my parents were going to take me to Six Flags and I got so anxious waiting only I knew the date for Six Flags. I don't know the date I'll get my license.

Just signed on to check my status! Everything is green and waiting on background check. Manufacturing is pending on background check. Yippieee!!!! :clapping: App was received by DPS on the 19th.
