I sent my materials (after applying online) on November 1st. Status did not change for weeks. I emailed them and they said that the online status was down.
After a couple more emails I was informed that my license was mailed on January 4th. I checked online, and sure enough, the status had changed to mailed.
Everything appears to be working normally now.

Funny note though... A couple of days ago I received a letter from the DPS stating that my fingerprint cards had not been included in my package (they were). This was AFTER I had already received my license in the mail. I called and they said that my license was valid and all materials had been received properly and they had no idea why I got the letter. I was told to disregard it.

I guess they do have some problems. :???:

congrats, just over a month then huh? and that's including time that they were off for the holidays. i guess i can hope to see something change on my status around the beginning of february then.

as for filling the void after the CHL arrives, you can always apply for an instructor's certificate.. i'm sure that'll take a while to process

Definitely planned on that. I have been thinking about some sort of competitive shooting. Need to find out whats around this neck of the woods.

I've joined the elite group who actually have their CHL. My wife just brought in the mail and there it was. :anamatedbanana
