Re: TxDPS Website Question
I sent my materials (after applying online) on November 1st. Status did not change for weeks. I emailed them and they said that the online status was down.
After a couple more emails I was informed that my license was mailed on January 4th. I checked online, and sure enough, the status had changed to mailed.
Everything appears to be working normally now.
Funny note though... A couple of days ago I received a letter from the DPS stating that my fingerprint cards had not been included in my package (they were). This was AFTER I had already received my license in the mail. I called and they said that my license was valid and all materials had been received properly and they had no idea why I got the letter. I was told to disregard it.
I guess they do have some problems.

as for filling the void after the CHL arrives, you can always apply for an instructor's certificate.. i'm sure that'll take a while to process

I've joined the elite group who actually have their CHL. My wife just brought in the mail and there it was.
