Thought I would get some hits with that title!!! Mailed packet certified Oct. 12. Picked up and documented on the 16th (start begins). Got my PIN on Nov. 13!! Did they hire more employees or is the great holiday shopping fairy granting me a wish?!?

I think thats about normal CZ. A month to your pin and about a month to get your license.

Yeah, it seems to be about the norm. Unfortunately for me, I sent mine in on Sept 25th and didn't get my PIN until yesterday(11/20), and that was only because I emailed them. Oh well. Now another month for the plastic and we should both be set! :cheers2:

It may well not take another month. My father-in-law's renewal CHL came in about 52 days, but until he sent an email to DPS at about the 40-day mark, the website still showed "packet mailed to applicant." The understaffed CHL dept. is too busy trying to get licenses out to really keep up with the website. About the only thing I advise people to do is check the website to verify it shows the application is processing (verifies DPS received and entered your application), then forget about checking. Start calling at 45 or 60 days.

Thanks for the info Chuck. I certainly hope it doesn't take another month just to do my BG check, but with my luck thus far, who knows.
