man, good luck. That ought to add another couple weeks to your wait. I just wish I had known about this forum when I was waiting to get my plastic.

I was all alone, "it was so scary". Really, this waiting room is great. I guess we get confort when we realize, "I'm not the only one getting screwed" LOL

Yeah, misery loves company LOL. The same guy that did my electronic fingerprints the first time was the same guy I went back and saw today. He said why do you need those prints I sent them electronically. I had to tell him that Austin doesn't have any way to accept electronic prints. (At least the CHL dept. doesn't). So he printed out my prints as he still had them on the hard drive. Anyway people send both sets in.

Not to be contentious, but I don't think folks are gettin' "screwed." And I don't think you really meant that.

I have no problem waiting for a stringent background check because I want to know that all Texas CHL holders are people I'd welcome to be my neighbors, welcome into my home, and people I thank for making Texas safer.

I respect and support the 2nd Amendment. That's our right. Concealed carry is a privilege granted by the State of Texas.

Keeping guns in the hands of the good guys is the best way of keeping them out of the hands of the bad guys.

Then what is open carry? Oh, right, they restrict that "privilege", too.

Hey, consider my situation.... the missus and I took the class together and mailed off our applications at the same time. Our messages changed on the DPS site today to "Application approved Certificate issued/ active", BUT her actual CHL arrived in today's mail, but not mine!! What's up with that?

Hopefully mine arrives tomorrow.

JRG, you made me feel better about my situation. Hope your plastic arrives today. Post here if it comes in so I can live vicariously.

Skiprr,

maybe screwed was a LITTLE harsh. I take it you received your plastic in a fair amount of time?

I was told many conflicting stories. "Website crashed", (took 6 weeks to fix), "your tech went on vactation", hmmmmm two week delay. "Missing information-papers sent". hmmm.. "there is no missing information, problem with Website", "What tech went on vactation"? hmm, another 2 weeks. Total of 108 days. Some of you know what I am talking about.

LOL

Nope. Haven't received it, in fact. But whether it takes 60 days or 4 months, I'm actually fine with it. Heck, it's looking like the new 1911 I want is gonna take longer than that to get to me.

Well...at least the Pin arrived ...! Been following your thread StexFJR and believe the re-do on prints might add up to 7-10 days....that's what it was on my wifes'/....I sent both our packets in same day to AUS and 61 days mine arrived and 69 days for wife.

Have you been able to get in alot of range time?? Great way to let off some steam >>> take it out on some paper...got your carry rig figured out for sure yet??

Hang in there...we've all been in same situation. Def. know the feeling.

Thanks for the note Skippr. Yeah I've been shooting a lot of holes in paper. Been carrying around the house. Gun show here in Pharr, Tx next weekend. So more to do while I wait and I hope it only adds 7-10 days. I'll keep the forum informed.

Excellent! We always like good news. Especially those of us that are still waiting and have no clue as to how long
